Tolkien letter’s a treasure
A lost letter from Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien has turned up in the North East. The hand-written note explains some of his thinking behind the novels which have won a new generation of fans after their film successes. The letter turned up on TV’s Antiques Roadshow when it was recorded in Haltwhistle and the hand writing was recognised by expert Liz Merryis. [More]
