University of Miami Goes Geek
LadyMerenwen I got a newsletter from the University of Miami today with information on classes for the Fall 2004 semester: Old English Language and Literature - taught by Professor John Goodmann. This course uses The Lord of the Rings, Professor J.R.R. Tolkien’s popular novel of medievalism, as a way into Old English language and literature. Students will learn to read Old English, and will then read selections from Beowulf in the original, as well as looking at Tolkien as a critic and creative responder to Old English literature.
