Christine writes: LOTR fans in Alberta might want to know that the November 2003 Issue of the Alberta Motor Association’s Westworld magazine has a big article on LOTR-themed tourism in New Zealand called Outtakes from Middle Earth. It’s on pages 50 – 55 and gives a great overview of the islands, the various movie locations, and all sorts of useful info on planning an LOTR themed trip. The writer seems to have spent quite a bit of time there, doing all the tours and things herself. She even found an Orc extra and interviewed him about his experience.
