I realize that this story is not directly LOTR-related, but many of us who are following this year’s Oscar race with hopes that ROTK will walk away with the big prize(s) have included the upcoming epic, The Alamo, on our lists of possible competition. Bad buzz has been building around the story of Mr. Crockett and friends for a few weeks now, though, and Disney announced today that the release of The Alamo has been postponed until April 2004 – which puts it out of this year’s Oscar race – because the “filmmakers felt they needed more time to finish it.” [More]
