John Kurlander, who spent nearly 30 years at Abbey Road before moving to Hollywood to further his career as an independent film scoring mixer, has come home to the London studio. Memories of his first sessions with the Beatles are intact, but Kurlander’s current project – tracking and mixing the London Philharmonic, along with a 60-voice chorus and some star soloists whose names he could not divulge, leaves little time for reminiscing.
