Rings success ‘making it harder for local film-makers’
LONDON: The success of the Lord of the Rings movies, and the transformation of Wellington into “Wellywood”, could make it harder to produce low budget films in New Zealand. This warning was given at a New Zealand Studies Association conference in London this weekend with claims the success of the LOTR movies was making New Zealand too expensive for locally financed film projects.
