Howard Shore On Elvish Lyrics
Our friends at TORn community site Gwaith-i-Phethdain have a little snippet from Howard Shore about the use of chorals in his soundtracks in answer to a question posed to him at one of his London concerts last month. Shore said: “Well, the lyrics are actually either from the book or written by Phillipa Boyens. They were translated by David Salo. But I only used little fragments, seldom whole lines, because I needed to fit the lyrics to the music. It’s easier that way, and actually it wouldn’t work in the film to use them in their complete form.” Thanks to Ringer Spy Fraggle for the heads up. [More]
