IMDB is currently conducting a best movie/best people (code for celebrity, I guess) of 2002 poll. I can’t find a close date, but on current results, Two Towers is performing outstandingly, the film, crew and cast are leading in no less than seven categories. Most interestly, Andy Serkis currently holds the lead for Best Supporting Actor gong. Check out the results as they currently stand. [More]

Andy Serkis made a brief appearance on UK breakfast show SM:TV this morning. Serkis answered a few questions from the show’s hosts and mentioned he was originally told his role would involve just 3 weeks of voice-over work. He cited his cat’s problems with coughing up hairballs as the inspiration behind his Gollum voice. He also acted out a few lines from the ‘two sides of Gollum’ scene in the studio whilst being compared to the actual footage playing alongside him.
