IMDB is currently conducting a best movie/best people (code for celebrity, I guess) of 2002 poll. I can’t find a close date, but on current results, Two Towers is performing outstandingly, the film, crew and cast are leading in no less than seven categories. Andy Serkis made a brief appearance on UK breakfast show SM:TV this morning. Serkis answered a few questions from the show’s hosts and mentioned he was originally told his role would involve just 3 weeks of voice-over work. He cited his cat’s problems with coughing up hairballs as the inspiration behind his Gollum voice. He also acted out a few lines from the ‘two sides of Gollum’ scene in the studio whilst being compared to the actual footage playing alongside him.
