Council-of-Elrond was hosting extended footage from Helm’s Deep, Rohan and Fangorn forest … until it got, well, TORned. The shots seem to have been cobbled together from the cutscenes for EA’s new TTT game, which explains the sound and synching issues. War of the Ring is also hosting it. Aragorn the Elfstone found a site with a six-minute suite created by Ajax-projection that contains some of the Requiem for a Dream Remix that was recently used in the Two Towers trailer. This was created by blending the original RFAD soundtrack with the music ripped from the trailer. [More]

Culriel has some more information: I went in to the Embassy Theatre and they said the screening of the extended version is a charity event being run by the Embassy Trust. At the moment it’s uncertain whether the general public can buy tickets, but because it’s for charity it’s likely to be more expensive. The screening is on November 11.

I recently sat through 8 long hours of the Extended DVD and I thought I’d share my view on the extended cut of The Fellowship of the Ring with you all, as well as some smaller things from all the extras on disc 3 and 4.
