The special 3½-hour Extended Edition of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” that New Line Home Entertainment has been touting as exclusive and produced specially for DVD on Nov. 12 will be shown less than two weeks later for just a few dollars on DirecTV pay- per-view.
