Two years ago, casting rumours were rife as the production of the Lord of the Rings trilogy was in the head of Peter Jackson, and media awareness was almost nil. Week after week, a new name would be thrown into the hat for a new character…from the unknowns, to the Hollywood stars, to the extreme, to the awful.
