In today’s NY Post, Liz apologizes for her recent gaff;
SORRY I got my friend Sir Ian McKellen’s upcoming movie wrong. It’s not the Harry Potter film he recently made, but J.R.R. Tolkien’s trilogy “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring,” which boasts Ian’s masterful touch as the wizard. For the first time in production history three films were shot simultaneously. McKellen currently stars with Helen Mirren in “Dance of Death,” opening Oct. 11 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
(I am of course, just goofing on her, we all make mistakes, no worries Liz! -Xo)

The other half says: ‘I don’t get it.’ I was in that side until I was forced to sit down and read the damn thing in preparation for this.” [More]

I just wanted to let you folks know that there are three LOTR items in the newest issue of Wizard (November 2001 issue). Page 17 has the same ad that ran in the last issue of Star Wars Insider and has pictures of LOTR picture frames and stuff. Page 45 has an ad for the LOTR: FOTR tabletop battle game. Finally, in Wizard’s monthly “Stuff” article on page 97, theres another little blurb about the tabletop game.

Does a popular movie Web site mean the movie itself is going to be a success? The evidence is mixed. Look at some of the most popular movies this year — “Rush Hour 2,” “The Mummy Returns” and “Jurassic Park III” — and you’ll see that all hit the screen in the wake of well-trafficked Web sites.
