Ringer fan Hackenbush, a theater owner in the US, sends us this:

Hi, I’m a manager at a theater, and our trailer placements just came in. LOTR is listed to be put on Pearl Harbor, but I think it’s the old trailer. Its running time is 2:13, and I think that’s the length of the old trailer, isn’t it? Also, it said “Lord of the Rings”, not “Fellowship of the Ring”. I can vouch this for ******* Theaters, but as far as the other chains go, I can’t speak for them.

Not to fear Hackenbush! The Teaser trailer was much shorter then 2:13. Something like 1:40. So Yea! Two minutes of pure LOTR bliss, this weekend! I can’t wait!

Decide for yourself which artist got it “right!” [More]

Carlos from American Prospect Online sent us this today:

“I am writing to inform you about an article published today by The American Prospect. When it comes to the fantasy novels of J.R.R. Tolkien, it is true that critics either love the books or hate them. As the film debut of The Fellowship of the Ring approaches, we discuss whether J.R.R. Tolkien is worthy of inclusion in the literary canon.”[More]
