In the trailer and featurette, Galadriel and her party appear to have an encounter with the barrow-wights. Later in the featurette, the party is seen riding toward an A-frame house with leaded windows:

Not only do I want to see Tom and Goldberry, but there was that spy report on TORN’s homepage a while back about them being in the show. So it’s definitely possible!

If he is in the show, I hope they don't deaden his character to match the vibe of the show so far. The story needs some lightness (just as Shakespeare added a fool to his tragedies).

A YouTuber pointed out that in FOTR, Elrond (at the Council) remembered meeting Tom Bombadil long ago; at that time the elves called him Iarwain Ben-adar.

I'm not sure what he has to do with the story or why any of our characters would go near the Old Forest. But then I'm not sure what the story of RoP even is in the first place.
Here's a theory - What if four characters follow the spreading darkness into the Old Forest and come upon a certain tree (we saw moving roots in the trailer). Perhaps then they start to feel sleepy?
What if all this leads to them finding some swords? Maybe the Morgul blade, as some explanation of the wights? Or perhaps they find some other famous swords that glow blue?
Could they just take the whole Old Forest and Barrow-downs chapters and make them play out in roughly the same way? It would be like the wacky musical episode that many series have.

To be clear, I'm not saying that he is not in the show, or even that I don't want him to be, just that we don't know because apparently at least some of the rumors were fake. I could imagine a scenario in which he could work, much more so than either the Harfoots or The Stranger/Probably-Gandalf, who's presence makes sense on no level at all.

...but I believe that the barrow-wight encounter may suit a more mundane purpose: to demonstrate that the evil influence of Sauron is having sinister effects throughout Middle-Earth, including the animation of dead creatures, the barrow-wights. It appears that Elrond and Galadriel's party encounter the wights while on an errand (to the Dwarves?). After the ensuing fight, perhaps they seek attention for their wounded and come across Tom Bombadil's house. Note that the creeping tree roots appear to occur in Linden, as evidenced by the lanterns in the background.

The high gables/A-frame construction are components of Southlander architecture in the show. This shot is likely staged in the ruins of the show's version of Pelargir, where the prior inhabitants of the Southlands travel at the end of S1. There were images released last year of this large outdoor set, which featured ruined Numenorean-looking architecture interspersed with Southlands-style huts and cottages like this one. It also looked to be a coastal settlement like Pelargir, which the large boat in the foreground of this photo would seem to support. The image is easy to confuse with the photos of the ruined version of the Eregion set. It's really just these mannish houses that distinguish the two.
As to who the riders are in this photo, I'm not sure. The ones in the rear are wearing high helms of some sort, like the Lindon guards we see toward the beginning of this featurette. Does this point to the foremost pair of riders being Galadriel and Elrond? Of that I'm not confident. The companions of these two on their quest through the wilderness wear no helms, and Galadriel has her hair bound up. This scene is therefore unlikely to be related to the barrow-wight encounter. So who is the character with long blond hair? Aside from Galadriel, there were no main characters with this hairstyle in S1. However, we know that Sauron at least will adopt this hairstyle at some point between his time as Halron in Mordor and his time as Annatar in Lindon. Is this Annatar, then? Or is it perhaps Amelia Kenworthy's mysterious character, who apparently shares scenes with Sauron? Or is this Galadriel on an unstated sidequest to Pelargir unrelated to her travels with Elrond and company on foot? So many questions!
Regarding the big collection of leaks posted on Reddit at the beginning of this year and reported on the TorN homepage, I'm fairly certain that all but one have been confirmed false. I do not remember which one was confirmed to be true, but I do not think it was the Bombadil encounter. FoF released a video reporting this; I will try to find it and double-check.

One thing, though: the rider at the front is almost certainly Galadriel. The trailer and featurette each have several shots of her in her green cloak and riding her white horse. So unless they've invented a new character with blonde hair, a green cloak, and a white horse, It's her. Also, if this is Pelargir, would the "ruins" have such a bridge with beautiful lanterns? Time will tell I suppose.

I hadn't noticed the lanterns until now--you're absolutely right, they certainly look elven. If this is Galadriel and the gold-cloaked riders are Lindon guards, then perhaps this is a settlement in Lindon? We didn't see much in the way of domestic architecture there in S1. Was there an interior shot of Gil-galad talking with Elrond toward the end of the season? The room/setting in which he appears here giving the command to guard the crossings looks familiar. Perhaps it's the interior of one of these stone-built structures. The scenes in the featurette seem to cluster together around specific characters and events, so I'm coming around to the idea that this is Galadriel arriving in Lindon. Who knows, perhaps this is Cirdan's dwelling!
Speaking of Gil-galad, why do you think he's putting his realm on lock-down? Has Galadriel or Elrond relayed the news of Sauron's return? Whom else would he want to apprehend fleeing the borders? Or is he afraid of an incursion into the realm by some individual or group, such as Adar's orcs? Most of the shots that we've seen so far could easily have been pulled from just two or three episodes of the season, so I have a feeling that there are many unexpected things lurking in the gaps between these.

I hadn't considered that this could be Cirdan's abode. Hmmm, as the oldest elf in Middle-Earth, you'd think he could afford a larger place...maybe this house has rent control  . So perhaps Galadriel and the elven guards are there to deliver a Ring of Power...
