Almost everything! What in the world isn't interesting?
First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
In college, after seeing the Bakshi version. I couldn't believe that the story just ended at Helm's Deep! What happened to Frodo? Why would a guy with no breeches and a broken sword be helpful on a quest? Just where did this "Aruman" come from? After reading the books, I realized that those questions were just the beginning, and I read them every October, without fail.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Gwaihir the Windlord, because as a kid I always wanted to be the cavalry.
