TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Entish Dreams (A Hasty Poem)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>By Braag, Son of Balin<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Looming loamish languid forms<br \/>\nDeep sleep I, amid the storms<br \/>\nStorms of ken and storms of cloud<br \/>\nThat batter bark encrusted shrouds<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The draughts I\u2019ve drunk, the rays lived under<br \/>\nThe stones my seed has riven asunder<br \/>\nHave crafted core, branch, twig and leaf<br \/>\nAnd muddled mind absorbed in grief<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Much is lost to forest floor<br \/>\nDecaying carpet of ageless lore<br \/>\nThe crush of memories pressing down<br \/>\nSmothering desire of sight or sound<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yet walked I once from sea to sea<br \/>\nShaded by endless canopy<br \/>\nGlinted by scintillating stars<br \/>\nSlanting home in shimmering bars<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Effortlessly I mastered earth<br \/>\nAnd witnessed lesser beings birthed<br \/>\nWide my branches gathered in<br \/>\nThe pulse of life and choral din<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But rapture sought is sorrow found<br \/>\nThe Ent-Wives ache cut wounds profound<br \/>\nAs axes scoring trunk and root<br \/>\nPain unsuccored by Entish moot<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">With witless whim, my self withdrew<br \/>\nLike cruelest winters palest hue<br \/>\nEndured but n\u2019er again embraced<br \/>\nConsciousness bereft of time or space<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Unburdened by this treasonous soul<br \/>\nWith waiting my most mortal goal<br \/>\nWorried not, as just a tree<br \/>\nUntil at last eternity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Middle-earth<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>By Lydwina Marie<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Fairest world ever seen,<br \/>\nwashed by springs of water clean,<br \/>\nFlowing with fountains of mirth,<br \/>\nthe world: fair Middle-earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Trees and grass and hills full fair,<br \/>\nElves, with shining golden hair.<br \/>\nMen in their tall mighty halls<br \/>\nand Eagles, with piercing calls.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Dwarves a-delving in the deep,<br \/>\nheights and hills that rearing leap<br \/>\nsunny peaks from end to end;<br \/>\nTheir tops the fluffy clouds mend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Hobbits in their sandy holes,<br \/>\nliving somewhat like the moles;<br \/>\nFood, pantries, and other things,<br \/>\ncaring not for rich bright rings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But Middle-earth remains fair,<br \/>\nfairer than the brightest star;<br \/>\nUnworn by great thought and care,<br \/>\nand sorrows flee upon the air.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Elves sing and dance by streams,<br \/>\ntheir sleep is blest with fair dreams<br \/>\nOf Valinor, the Elven Home,<br \/>\nand crashing waves with silv&#8217;ry foam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Men dream of fame and pow&#8217;r,<br \/>\nnot of grass and golden flow&#8217;r.<br \/>\nHelpless in their misery,<br \/>\nin their silver livery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Eagles of the heights see far,<br \/>\nand nothing can their eyesight mar.<br \/>\nFree: the creatures of the air,<br \/>\nuntouched by thought, word, and care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Dwarves&#8217; dreams are of rocks and jewels,<br \/>\nuncovering great sights and pools.<br \/>\nThinking thoughts of golden lore,<br \/>\nnever dancing on the moor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The happy Hobbits have no cares<br \/>\nof evil cruelty and lairs;<br \/>\nThey live a life of perfect ease,<br \/>\nrevelling in the grass and trees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Dunedain, the dour Men<br \/>\nscour the Shire and many a den.<br \/>\nSilent and watchful in the dark of night,<br \/>\nthey&#8217;re seldom seen but at twilight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The stars in the bright-studded sky<br \/>\nlook down on all the world&#8217;s sights.<br \/>\nThe whole earth from end to end they see<br \/>\nfrom stream to rushing Sea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The great Sea rushes and foams,<br \/>\nand the golden sand it combs.<br \/>\nWith gentle, peaceful waves dark blue,<br \/>\nwhile tiny shells the tide saves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">People of the mighty Sea<br \/>\nin their seawashed weather lee;<br \/>\nLiving in that tall stone tower,<br \/>\nruling Dol Amroth with power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The secret Elves live in high lees<br \/>\nrevelling in the shade of trees.<br \/>\nLeaving, not seen by many<br \/>\npassing o&#8217;er the untouched fen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to The Great Hall of Poets, our regular monthly feature showcasing the talent of Middle-earth fans.
