TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Maiden with Silver Hair<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Lithoniel-Greenleaf<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Walking slowly over the dew flecked grounds,<br \/>\nA young maiden with silver hair appears.<br \/>\nHer hair shining in the silver moon.<br \/>\nShe dances, as a soft gentle breeze<br \/>\nBegins to stir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The leaves are whispering secrets to her.<br \/>\nSecrets from the past, secrets from the days that<br \/>\nHave passed. Secrets from the future, secrets from<br \/>\nChildren and men.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The maiden with silver hair smiles, and<br \/>\nListens to the secrets being shared.<br \/>\nFor she is the only one who can hear<br \/>\nThem, only her.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Secrets she would keep dear.<br \/>\nThe maiden with silver hair smiles,<br \/>\nAs the wind blows by.<br \/>\nShe listens silently as the night<br \/>\nCalls to her.<br \/>\nThe night calls to the stars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The night calls to her,<br \/>\nAnd soon the maiden with<br \/>\nSilver hair, flowing past her knees<br \/>\nDances again.<br \/>\nAnd soon whispering rain is heard,<br \/>\nUpon the horizon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Soon a faint, giggle is heard.<br \/>\nAnd a voice as gentle as silk is heard.<br \/>\nHer tongue is foreign,<br \/>\nAn ancient language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But it seems to call to the rain,<br \/>\nTo the wind, to the moon, to the stars,<br \/>\nTo night, to day.<br \/>\nAs the maiden with silver hair speaks,<br \/>\nThough not alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A quieter voice has joined her own, as the<br \/>\nMoon shines upon golden hair.<br \/>\nAnother maiden is standing with her,<br \/>\nClothed in white, and full of light.<br \/>\nHer ears though slightly pointed,<br \/>\nShow through her hair.<br \/>\nShe is Galadriel, the lady of light.<br \/>\nThe maiden with silver hair, speaks<br \/>\nVoice as quiet as night. Her ears are pointed as<br \/>\nWell it seems.<br \/>\nElves both of these fair maidens are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Both are ancient, both are wise.<br \/>\nBoth have seen the world that comes<br \/>\nAnd goes.<br \/>\nTheir voices, soft as snow, gentle<br \/>\nAs rain, though foreign to<br \/>\nThine ear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Talk of the past, what is to come<br \/>\nAnd what has gone. And soon silence<br \/>\nIs heard.<br \/>\nThe maiden with golden hair,<br \/>\nHas now gone with the wind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As the maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nSmiles and soon she is dancing again,<br \/>\nWhile leaves dance around her and wind<br \/>\nWhispers to her once more.<br \/>\nAs the bell tolls midnight, the rain<br \/>\nIs soon to come.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And the Elven maiden with silver,<br \/>\nFlowing hair, and midnight blue gown,<br \/>\nSings as her work is done. The rain sings around her,<br \/>\nThough she is not wet, giving life to the land,<br \/>\nTo the earth she stands on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For she smiles, as others,<br \/>\nBoth men and hobbits, dwarves and elves<br \/>\nSleep, for she would protect them,<br \/>\nAs her mother does.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The elven maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nSoftly sings as the rains fall, the earth absorbs<br \/>\nThe life giving rain. The leaves shiver as rain sparkles<br \/>\nLike early morning dew, from a star\u2019s tear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The maiden with silver hair, dances once<br \/>\nAgain, as the land rejoices.<br \/>\nAnd soon her singing is heard in the<br \/>\nWind, in the rain, among the stars and<br \/>\nIn our dreams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though now she is gone,<br \/>\nBut I know she will return.<br \/>\nFor she is the elven maiden with silver hair<br \/>\nThe guardian of secrets,<br \/>\nThe guardian of rain,<br \/>\nThe guardian of night,<br \/>\nThe guardian of wind,<br \/>\nThe guardian of our dreams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Her mother Galadriel, always watches<br \/>\nOver her, guiding her.<br \/>\nThough the maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nHas been there through the ages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For she is the maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nAnd she will always be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * halls of dungeons deep<br \/>\nWhere many delve and never sleep<br \/>\nIt\u2019s there twas found the heart of stone<br \/>\nShining brightly all alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of carvings drawn<br \/>\nSoldiers stand to guard the dawn<br \/>\nThe wind, it rises to catch the air<br \/>\nA subtle warmth that cannot compare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls where gold lies<br \/>\nThe king stands alone and never cries<br \/>\nHis heart is cold and lost and black<br \/>\nAnd cruel words are his harsh attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls a dragon came<br \/>\nDestroying lives never to be the same<br \/>\nKilling all who crossed his path<br \/>\nAnd burning those in his fiery wrath.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls where death lingers<br \/>\nThe drake guards his hoard with scaly fingers<br \/>\nHe sleeps brooding over his gold<br \/>\nHis red greatness shining bold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls a terrible silence falls<br \/>\nAnd lone ravens mourn with lamenting calls<br \/>\nThey wait for the day of the King\u2019s return<br \/>\nHearts hoping for him, they yearn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of Erebor<br \/>\nThe dwarves dwell there no more<br \/>\nWandering lost in the wilderness<br \/>\nThe harsh wind acts as their only caress<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of broken ruin<br \/>\nThe blood of Durin will return soon<br \/>\nLed by the crownless Prince with the oaken shield<br \/>\nThe dragon\u2019s might shall finally yield.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of Durin\u2019s folk<br \/>\nLies a sleeping King, many\u2019ve spoke<br \/>\nHe waits in rest, with his kin, until the demise<br \/>\nThen from heaven, he shall arise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Last of the Ring Bearers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Bracegirdle<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On sun-bright summer mornings with clippers and a hoe<br \/>\nHe\u2019d take the pleasant short walk to the top of Bagshot Row.<br \/>\nWhile humming soft a song he would slowly stroll along,<br \/>\nPondering the day\u2019s work \u2013 how to help the garden grow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When tales overheard of Elves and Rings and Foe immensely strong;<br \/>\nOf Master Frodo\u2019s leaving \u2013 and fear he did not belong.<br \/>\nBut the Grey Pilgrim knew that the heart of Sam was true,<br \/>\nAnd this son of Gaffer Gamgee would get to go along.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Through Old Forest and on to Bree, Sam met the Future King.<br \/>\nThen secret ways through reeking fen and midges with a Sting.<br \/>\nFrom Hilltop to the Ford where cold the waters roared;<br \/>\nA fate then lade at Rivendell \u2013 Nine Walkers and The Ring.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In Khazad-d\u00fbm a great loss \u2013 The Fellowship now eight.<br \/>\nThen Golden Wood too short a rest, and on to River Great.<br \/>\nTale now fully told of Sam\u2019s faithfulness so bold.<br \/>\nThen leisure trek to Shire so dear to fulfil his fate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To Elanor he did entrust the Red Book to hold tight,<br \/>\nTo tell the tales of days gone by, the days of dark and light.<br \/>\nSamwise with Daughter Fair then a final walk did share.<br \/>\nA slow walk of sweet sadness to Grey Havens bright.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, Last of the Ring Bearers, Middle-earth he did leave,<br \/>\nAnd Straight Way was taken as grace he did receive.<br \/>\nPast friendships now unfold and Sam\u2019s tears fall as gold.<br \/>\nAnd Aman is further blest on this unknown summer\u2019s eve.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Once again there\u00a0were
