Born of Hope: The Ring of Barahir<\/b><\/p>\n

Born of Hope<\/a> is based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings and tells the story of the D\u00fanedain as it follows the lives of Arathorn II and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn.<\/p>\n

It debuted at Ring*Con 2009 and is widely regarded as the most credible of all fan-based film adapatations of Tolkien’s Middle-earth works.<\/p>\n

But what did you think? Is it a worthy addition to the films of Middle-earth? Does it effectively portray the story of Arathorn and Gilraen? And, as a film that was made post-Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings, what influence can we see there?<\/p>\n

Because we’ll be discussing it, rather than simply watching it, I’d defintiely encourage you to watch the film beforehand. Which is pretty easy, because everyone can watch it for free on Youtube (I’ve embedded it directly below for folks)!<\/p>\n
