TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Nam\u00e1ri\u00eb<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Pedro M.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To the West,<br \/>\nTo the ever-lasting light of the Blessed Land,<br \/>\nFor now the ages have weighed upon my soul,<br \/>\nAnd the eternal life that blessed me once<br \/>\nHave now turned into a curse.<br \/>\nTo the West,<br \/>\nFor what is the sight of Minas Tirith<br \/>\nCompared to the eternal beauty of Tirion upon the hill?<br \/>\nAnd the White Tree of Gondor<br \/>\nTo the ever-lasting majesty of the Undying Lands<br \/>\nBut a silvered mirror of ancient glory,<br \/>\nNow meaningless and void?<br \/>\nTo the West,<br \/>\nWhere my soul shall forever rest on Mandos\u2019s silent halls,<br \/>\nFor my eyes see now but darkness,<br \/>\nAnd death was sent forth upon my kin.<br \/>\nThere is no more hope on this fading land for me,<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019ve seen it\u2019s baleful fate,<br \/>\nFor men shall now rule over this Earth,<br \/>\nAnd my people will be forgoten with the years.<br \/>\nBut shall I miss this brave and ancient land<br \/>\nThat my eyes shall see no more,<br \/>\nFor on this now forsaken mountains,<br \/>\nHills, valleys and rivers,<br \/>\nOn these deep and now hollow caves and fortresses,<br \/>\nHave we for long lived and died,<br \/>\nOn this mighty land of men<br \/>\nWe have fought for hope and light,<br \/>\nBlood have been spilled,<br \/>\nAnd many lifes have been taken,<br \/>\nBut our spirits were never broken,<br \/>\nOr our origin forsaken.<br \/>\nYet now the memory of this heroic past<br \/>\nCauses me but grief and pain,<br \/>\nAnd there\u2019s no relief here for my weeping soul.<br \/>\nThe burning flame that brought us here is now but ashes,<br \/>\nCold and grey,<br \/>\nEvermore carried away,<br \/>\nFading in the whispering Wind.<br \/>\nAnd on the silvered ships shall I return to our luminous, most beloved Land.<br \/>\nNow I say farewell my friends,<br \/>\nMay the blessed light of the West forever shine upon your fate,<br \/>\nAnd may we meet once more after you pass away,<br \/>\nOn the silent house of Mandos,<br \/>\nOn the distant, undying West.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Lament of D\u00eds<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Mrs. Adam C.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My two children are lying at my feet,<br \/>\ndeath in their faces, so peaceful and sweet.<br \/>\nO Il\u00favatar, what can I have done<br \/>\nto deserve this loss of life?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The tears drop heavy from my face,<br \/>\nmy heart has been struck by a mace.<br \/>\nDeath: how cold, how cruel<br \/>\nto take my only sons from me!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My sons have entered Eru&#8217;s halls,<br \/>\nthough, heartbroken, their mother calls.<br \/>\nO F\u00edli, K\u00edli, do not forget she<br \/>\nwho lingers on the fading earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Elanor<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by I. Salogel<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Lothl\u00f3rien was abandoned and<br \/>\nThus died the flowers of that land;<br \/>\nIn Middle-earth sunstars bloomed no more<br \/>\nBut one \u2013 and that was Elanor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A Hobbit lass with curling locks<br \/>\nOf golden ringlets; dressed in frocks<br \/>\nBefitting well her folk and kin<br \/>\nAnd flaunting prettily her grin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Her eyes that sparkle wondrous fair<br \/>\nAnd blue, improve her yellow hair.<br \/>\nThough sometimes they are full of cheek<br \/>\nAt other times are sweet and meek.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Firstborn daughter of Samwise<br \/>\nThe Brave, \u2018tis not a great surprise<br \/>\nThat such a girl as she was taken<br \/>\nTo be the royal queen\u2019s handmaiden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When beautiful and grown, she wed<br \/>\nA young lad who was named Fastred.<br \/>\nThey lived in Westmarch, green with flowers.<br \/>\nTheir children Fairbairns of the Towers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And when Sam up and took<br \/>\nHis leave of Middle-Earth, they kept his book,<br \/>\nAnd lived in simple Hobbit ways<br \/>\nUntil the end of all their days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to The Great Hall of Poets, our regular monthly feature showcasing the talent of Middle-earth fans.
