TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Lament for the Fallen<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Mrs. Adam C.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Like the faintest breath of air<br \/>\nyour life is to me.<br \/>\nWhen ages pass, I shall remain,<br \/>\nand you shall cease to be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here I lie alone, with you<br \/>\never dwelling in my mind;<br \/>\nPainfully I watch and wait,<br \/>\nfor I&#8217;ve been left behind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">War, the thing that keeps us torn<br \/>\nfrom each other&#8217;s loving arms.<br \/>\nThreatens to devour you<br \/>\nand do the world more harm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Shall I wait here, my dear love,<br \/>\nfor tidings of your defeat?<br \/>\nOr shall I sail across the sea,<br \/>\nwith memory of our love, retreat?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It is the tragedy of your kind,<br \/>\nand the gift to the Edain,<br \/>\nTo live or die, in peace or war.<br \/>\nWhile Eldali\u00eb live on in vain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our love with loss forever bound,<br \/>\nand with uncertainty,<br \/>\nBitter or sweet, I have to choose:<br \/>\nI have weighed them carefully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Nam\u00e1ri\u00eb, Eldamar!<br \/>\nYour white shores I shall not see!<br \/>\nUnd\u00f3miel shall never come,<br \/>\nlest death deliver her to thee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Tears of bitterness and grief<br \/>\nflow down my weary face.<br \/>\nL\u00fathien, I know your pain,<br \/>\nto love the fallen \u2013 from grace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~*~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">A Lone Traveller<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>By BlackFox<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A lone traveller, homeward bound,<br \/>\nseeking comfort in the dark the night has found.<br \/>\nHis heart is heavy and his brow is grim,<br \/>\nfor his feet are weary and his eyes are dim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But the road keeps winding on and on,<br \/>\nthrough woods and fields and valleys cold.<br \/>\nNo company save mist and moon,<br \/>\nfor the wind&#8217;s begun to sing the autumn&#8217;s tune.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then, passing by the halflings&#8217; land,<br \/>\nhe comes to a sudden stand &#8211;<br \/>\na soft whisper!
