Ring Cycle<\/h4>\n

The smiths of Eregion they learnt,
\nLong ere the fires of Sauron burnt,
\nTo forge the Rings, the art of things
\nAnd power in shapes and forms to hold,
\nFate sealed in Ring of Gold.<\/p>\n

The dwarves in Moria they dwelt
\nAnd taught the elves to metals melt
\nAnd so create, with hammers shape
\nThe mithril, silver, bronze and gold,
\nIn shapes and forms to hold.<\/p>\n

The Rings of Power the elves then forged
\nAnd Sauron on their wisdom gorged.
\nIn fair disguise he feigned surprise
\nWhen Three Great Rings the elves did mould,
\nIn mithril, bronze and gold.<\/p>\n

He saw them not, so Seven more
\nFor dwarves he wrought from precious ore,
\nAnd then still Nine with jewels fine
\nAs gifts to Men for falsehood sold,
\nIn Rings that he did mould.<\/p>\n

But One still stronger he did make
\nHid deep in Mordor: earth did quake
\nAnd fires stirred. The elves then heard
\nHis true intent: his powers bent
\nIn heated wrath and malice cold,
\nFalsehood that he sold.<\/p>\n

One Ring he made to rule them all,
\nEnsnared all but the Three to fall
\nUnder his power and since that hour
\nAs Lord of Rings he ruled of old,
\nIn wrath and malice cold \u2013<\/p>\n

Then Middle-earth in Shadow fell,
\nThe Lord of Rings cast his dark spell
\nAnd none could stand against the hand
\nOf blackness that this Ring did hold,
\nThe Lord of Rings of old.<\/p>\n

But still against him in defiance
\nThere formed a desperate Last Alliance
\nOf Elves and Men, they stood again,
\nTheir banners blazed with courage bold,
\n\u2018Gainst blackness he did hold.<\/p>\n

They marched on Mordor and won back
\nMuch of their realm from Shadows black,
\n\u2018Til that Dark Lord at last came forth
\nIn heated wrath and malice cold,
\nBefore their banners bold.<\/p>\n

Gil-Galad Elven King was slain,
\nAnd Elendil Elf-Friend in vain
\nHis great sword drew \u2013 it broke in two,
\nThe West failed at Sauron\u2019s stronghold,
\nWith wrath and malice cold.<\/p>\n

But Isildur, son of the King,
\nWith hilt-shard cut off Sauron\u2019s Ring
\nFrom his black hand in a last stand:
\nThus severed power the Ring controlled,
\nFailed at Sauron\u2019s stronghold.<\/p>\n

Then Sauron fell in grim defeat,
\nThe Shadow fled from his dark seat;
\nHe lost his power, and since that hour
\nHis strength it waned, but still remained
\nAnd hid in secret\u2019s shades untold,
\nPower that the Ring controlled.<\/p>\n

Isildur took the Ring to keep,
\nBut lost it to the River deep.
\nFate\u2019s blow did wield in Gladden Fields:
\nFor this Ring did dark thoughts enfold,
\nIn secret\u2019s shades untold.<\/p>\n

There long it lay in mudded ground
\n\u2018Til chance came and at last \u2018twas found.
\nIts malice black then sprang its trap
\nPossessing mind took precious hold,
\nAnd did dark thoughts enfold.<\/p>\n

Its poison wore its bearer down,
\nDrew out his life. Far underground
\nIt lay in wait, attending fate,
\nBeneath the Misty Mountains cold,
\nAnd mind took precious hold.<\/p>\n

The Dark Thought waxed though ever hidden:
\nThe Ring perceived, and left, unbidden.
\nBy chance or luck it was picked up:
\nThe tables turned, the tale evolved,
\nBeneath the Mountains cold.<\/p>\n

The Shadow grew, and back it fled
\nTo Mordor and its ashen bed.
\nThe fire reburned, the dark returned,
\nAnd watchful peace again was nulled,
\nAnd so the tale evolved.<\/p>\n

One Ring he made to rule them all:
\nThe Ring has heard its Master\u2019s call.
\nWhilst light devoured from brooding tower
\nWith growing power has hour by hour
\nOur fates ensealed in Ring of Gold,
\nAnd peace again is nulled.<\/p>\n

One Ring he made to rule them all:
\nThe Ring has heard its Master\u2019s call.
\nOne Ring to Find, to Bring, to Bind,
\nThe Lord of Rings rules, as of old,
\nOur fate with Ring of Gold.<\/p>\n

Lord of the Rings Poem<\/h4>\n

The light of the Eldar wanes & so the light of Men
\nThe oncoming Shadow lives with Morgoth\u2019s spin
\nYet the fell trees will sing in the wood again
\nThe royal seed as meant to be sent
\nThe \u2018White Tree\u2019 will bloom in Gondor\u2019s win
\nSaruman couldn\u2019t stop the Rivers rage
\nHobbits will change history in the Third Age
\nIsildur\u2019s bane will resurrect the pain
\nIsildur\u2019s heir will pave the way
\nDwarves hide from the outside as the Old alliances die
\nThe frost from the North is stormy tide
\nAngmar is on the Dark Lord\u2019s side
\nCry and weep for the fall of Arnor
\nShe has no shield or armor anymore
\nThe ruins exclaim the failure of Numenor
\nPraise the Maiar who defend the \u2018silver cord\u2019
\nThe Sea calls us back to shore for the time is short
\nThe Eagles swoop down as a last resort
\nMt. DOOM fumes with poisonous ash & dust
\nSauron makes war on us with an Eye of Lust
\nDisguised in light as a fair form to trust
\nThe Island was crushed & it sank into deep water
\nElendil sailed to become Gondor\u2019s father
\nElessar carried the light of the Evenstar farther it seems
\nThe Farthing was saved by Gandalf\u2019s dream
\nThe Shire remains to remain evergreen
\nElves make music as they dance and sing on distant shores
\nRemembering no more all the \u2018dark lord\u2019 made sore
\nThere are no more foul memories to hoard
\nNo more talk of spider lore or faithless orcs
\nNo more black speech or the screech of enemy hordes
\nThe Road goes on and on as grace affords
\nAnduril comes down from the \u2018elven lord\u2019
\nA Dunedain ranger reclaims a re-forged sword
\nIt\u2019s called the \u2018Flame of the West\u2019
\nIn the words of Gandalf the Grey
\n\u2018May the days of the King be blessed!\u2019<\/p>\n
