\"Peter-Jackson-Doctor-Who\" Here’s a confirmation<\/a> that a lot of folks have been been waiting to hear: Peter Jackson will<\/i> be presenting on The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies at San Diego Comic-con.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, July 26th, beginning at 10 a.m., Warner Bros. Pictures brings three of its most hotly anticipated films to this year\u2019s Con: Peter Jackson will be on the main stage with \u201cThe Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,\u201d from New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and George Miller will be on hand to present a first look at \u201cMad Max: Fury Road,\u201d from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. <\/p>\n

The Hall H audience will also get a peek at the Wachowskis\u2019 original sci-fi actioner \u201cJupiter Ascending,\u201d also from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. Attending stars will be revealed at a later date.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What next?<\/h4>\n

We speculated that this might be in the works when we announced that Sylvester McCoy was set for ADR work<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

Now attention will turn to content: what will we get to see? One wonders if Jackson’s last presentation in 2012 could offer us some tips.<\/p>\n

The Hobbit: AUJ panel was part of a much bigger WB panel which also boasted Pacific Rim, the first sneak of Godzilla, and a few other films.<\/p>\n

The keystone of the 2012 presentation was, of course, the screening of 10-12 minutes of partially finished film footage. Plus there was a longish Q&A with Jackson, Boyens, Freeman, Serkis and Armitage. In total, the entire shebang lasted 30-40 minutes.<\/p>\n

Some guesswork<\/h4>\n

If things pan out similarly, we may get to see a substantial slab of footage from The Battle of the Five Armies. However, we must factor in Jackson’s comments about the substantial work still to be done on VFX. That’s why my guess is a new production blog, plus the teaser trailer (we shall see how right I am soon enough).<\/p>\n

The other question is when Warner Bros will debut the teaser trailer. Will they drop it on the internet a couple days earlier in order to maximise pre-presentation buzz? SDCC being such a media event now, one wonders if the marketing head-honchos might save it to try and grab even more headlines for The Hobbit.<\/p>\n

However, if they don’t (and decide to go to the internet first), I feel Tuesday 22 July is the prime suspect.<\/p>\n
