This year, the organisation will institute annual awards in several categories to:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;recognise excellence in the fields of Tolkien scholarship and fandom as well as highlighting our long-standing charitable objective to \u201cseek to educate the public in, and promote research into, the life and works of Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE\u201d.&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The categories for the inaugural 2014 Tolkien Society Awards are:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul style=\"list-style: disc; padding: 4px;\">\n<li>Best Artwork\n<li>Best Article\n<li>Best Book\n<li>Best Novel\n<li>Best Website\n<li>Outstanding Contribution Award\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The awards at the 2014 AGM cover the 2013 calendar year; there is no restriction on where books\/articles\/websites are published\/hosted, but they should all be in English. Nominations, must be sent to current Tolkien Society Chairman, Shaun Gunner, and close on Friday April 4.
