\nof the very best aspects of the Academy Awards is the ability of the nominations and forthcoming telecast to shine a light on smaller films
\nthat would perhaps otherwise go unnoticed by the general public. Such is the case with a film that Martin Freeman shot a couple of years ago
\ncalled The Voorman Problem<\/em>. Directed by Mark Gill and also starring
\nTom Hollander, Simon Griffiths and Elisabeth Gray, the film has been nominated for Best Live Action Short at the 86th Annual Academy Awards. We would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Gill and his cast and crew.<\/p>\n

Official Synopsis:<\/p>\n

\u00a0Doctor Williams is called in to examine the enigmatic Mr Voorman, a prisoner with a peculiar affliction: he believes he is a god. The doctor must decide on the sanity of Mr Voorman: is he a faker or a lunatic? Diagnose him insane and they can ship him off to the asylum. But before making a decision, the doctor has several questions in relation to Voorman\u2019s claim: why would a god choose to be straitjacketed in a prison, is there a way he can validate his boast and what has any of this got to do with Belgium?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
