\"desolation Amidst talk over on BoxOffice.com about The Hobbit, one user has revealed that a “For Your Consideration” booklet circulating around Hollywood for The Desolation of Smaug lists a run-time of 156 minutes. <\/p>\n

I RSVP’d to a screening on the WB lot and it lists 156min as the runtime.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As another user there points out, the run-times in such material generally includes credits. So if credits run for about five minutes to 10 minutes, expect a film of a little under two-and-a-half hours (it seems longer when you say it that way, doesn’t it?).<\/p>\n

If true, this would make The Desolation of Smaug 13 minutes shorter than the theatrical run of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and 24 minutes shorter than The Two Towers, the middle film of Jackson’s adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.<\/p>\n

Could that mean that There And Back Again will therefore be a monster as long as Return of the King? Thanks to Ringer TheCoon for the heads-up.<\/p>\n
