Just released this morning – amazing new banner art for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug<\/em>.  This high resolution image is rich with characters and scenes from the upcoming movie; we see Gandalf in Dol Guldur; Tauriel, Legolas and Thranduil in the woodland realm; our ‘hot dwarves’ Kili, Thorin and Fili, with Mirkwood behind them; the ‘barrels out of bond’ scene, and what looks like Lake-town in the distance (even though the barrels are going away from it); and Bard drawing his bow.<\/p>\n

In the centre of it all is, of course, Bilbo; and behind him we see Dale and the Lonely Mountain.  It’s pretty clear from this banner whom the studios want us to focus on as the key characters in the film; but we also get a glimpse of almost all of the major plot points we expect in Desolation of Smaug<\/em>.  Noticeably absent – no Beorn, no-one else from the White Council, no Azog and no dragon!<\/p>\n
