\"\"<\/a> Those who watched TORn’s live Comic Con<\/del> HobbitCon feed<\/a> might have Weta Workshop’s<\/span> Greg Broadmore<\/em> busy signing copies of his a graphic novel at the Weta Booth<\/span>.<\/p>\n

As a fan of Greg Broadmore’s Dr. Grordbort<\/span> I thought I wouldn’t mind finding more about it. It turns out that he was signing his new goofy Dr. Grordbort<\/span> graphic novel called “TRIUMPH: Unnecessarily Violent Tales of Science Adventure for the Simple and Unfortunate<\/em>” (quite a mouthful).\u00a0 Published in hard-cover, it contains two gloriously illustrated stories following the misadventures of the brutish (British) space hero Lord Cockswain.<\/p>\n

More tongue-in-cheek (and, warning<\/font>, a trifle crude) retro\/steampunk space action after the break:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The first story \u201cInto the Lair of the Space Wankers<\/em>,\u201d wherein the brutish Cockswain \"\"<\/a>discovers an alien planet that uses tears from children to brew Kuiper Cola, the solar system\u2019s most delicious beverage (naturally :))<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Psychiatrist<\/em>\u201d has an emotionally repressed braggart Cockswain hints at a twisted childhood while channeling Ernest Hemingway by way of Flash Gordon to blow away a Gilded Gristleback from outer space. (as you do :))<\/p>\n

Finally it features a classic faux-catalog of ads for a remote-control punching machine \u2014 the Punch-O-Tron \u2014 and Broadmore\u2019s signature assortment of steampunk weaponry and ratro ray guns.<\/p>\n

A lot of humorous sf-goodness to be had by all!<\/p>\n
