Photo \/ Steve Unwin\" src=\"http:\/\/www-images.theonering.org\/torwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Design-a-career-around-your-imagination-edit-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Weta concept designers and illustrators\" width=\"265\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/span>In this article, The New Zealand Herald&#8217;s Helen Frances speaks to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Weta<\/span> concept designers and illustrators <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ben Wootten<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Paul Tobin<\/span> about how they got their starts in the industry.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wootten<\/span>\u00a0joined <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Weta<\/span> in 1996, and has worked on <em>King Kong<\/em>, <em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em> and <em>The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe<\/em>.\u00a0His knowledge of animal anatomy and behavior (he studied zoology at university) was key to creating the dinosaurs for <em>King Kong<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Paul Tobin<\/span> began his career at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Weta Workshop<\/span> in 2003 when the first Narnia film and <em>King Kong<\/em> were underway. Tobin says he was &#8220;lousy at drawing dinosaurs&#8221; so he stayed with Narnian fantasy.
