Tolkien\u2019s epic \u201cThe Hobbit.\u201d \u00a0The announcement was made today by Jackson, who directed all three \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d films and is currently in production on \u201cThe Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey\u201d and \u201cThe Hobbit: There and Back Again,\u201d with the films shooting back-to-back in New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the films, Connolly (\u201cThe Last Samurai,\u201d \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0339291\/\">Lemony Snicket&#8217;s A Series of Unfortunate Events<\/a>\u201d) will play Dain Ironfoot, a great dwarf warrior and cousin of Thorin Oakenshield. Peter Jackson welcomed the news of Connolly to Middle-earth:\u00a0 \u201cWe could not think of a more fitting actor to play Dain Ironfoot, the staunchest and toughest of Dwarves, than Billy Connelly, the Big Yin himself. With Billy stepping into this role, the cast of &#8220;The Hobbit&#8221; is now complete.
