two-part fantasy epic <em>The Hobbit<\/em> begins in earnest \u2013 and the movie&#8217;s stars might not be far away.<\/p>\n<p>One of two convoys laden with film gear arrived in <em>Matamata&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.co.nz\/maps?q=Buckland+Rd+matamata&amp;hl=en&amp;sll=-44.776461,168.392691&amp;sspn=0.230552,0.617294&amp;vpsrc=0&amp;hnear=Buckland+Rd,+Matamata+3472,+Waikato&amp;t=m&amp;z=14\">Buckland Rd<\/a><\/em> at the weekend, while the other headed to <em>Queenstown<\/em> from <em>Sir Peter&#8217;s Miramar studios<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><center><div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-49347 nearby resident who declined to be named said the convoy started arriving on Saturday afternoon. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He estimated about 50 trucks and smaller vehicles towing caravans and a mobile generator wound their way up <em>Buckland Rd<\/em> and onto the film set over 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p><a
