filming publicity<\/p>\n<p>Filming part of <em>The Hobbit<\/em> on location in <em>Queenstown<\/em> gives the opportunity for &#8220;significant exposure&#8221; for the<a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.co.nz\/maps?q=Queenstown+Lake+Wakatipu&amp;hl=en&amp;sll=-41.244772,172.617188&amp;sspn=33.002737,79.013672&amp;vpsrc=0&amp;t=m&amp;z=10\"><em> Wakatipu<\/em><\/a> on the main world tourism markets, <em>Destination Queenstown<\/em> says.<\/p>\n<p>DQ chief executive Tony Everitt was asked to comment yesterday after proposals lodged by T<em>hree Foot<\/em><em> Seven Ltd<\/em> to film sequences in at least three<em> Wakatipu<\/em> locations.<\/p>\n<p>The Wellington production company applied this month for resource consent for filming activities involving &#8220;over 200 people&#8221; between early October and mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>Queenstown Lakes agency Ican Models &amp; Talent was getting &#8220;a wonderful response&#8221; from advertisements for extras with &#8220;character faces&#8221;
