{"id":37834,"date":"2010-08-09T14:18:23","date_gmt":"2010-08-09T19:18:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theonering.net\/torwp\/?p=37834"},"modified":"2010-08-09T21:20:47","modified_gmt":"2010-08-10T02:20:47","slug":"speculation-of-hobbit-announcement-august-21st","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theonering.net\/torwp\/2010\/08\/09\/37834-speculation-of-hobbit-announcement-august-21st\/","title":{"rendered":"Speculation Of Hobbit Announcement August 21st UPDATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro\">Over at <a href=\"http:\/\/nznoldor.blogspot.com\/2010\/08\/hobbit-announcement-due-on-august-21st.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Noldor Blog<\/a>, there is\u00a0serious speculation as to a potential announcement regarding\u00a0<em>The Hobbit<\/em> around\u00a0August 21st.\u00a0 And if so,\u00a0indications suggest it would be a positive announcement for fans.<\/p>\n<p>The blog mentions how the Weta Cave is shutting for five days, then closing again a week later for what is called a &#8220;very secret private function&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0In addition, a\u00a0large amount of \u00a0<em>Lord Of The Rings<\/em> \/ <em>Hobbit<\/em> sets and props are being pulled from storage, apparently in a somewhat urgent nature. Contacts he has\u00a0spoken to feel an announcement is imminent and that the morale there is very high.<\/p>\n<p>While this confirms nothing, it does open a window of possibility that something is afoot.\u00a0 At the excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frodofranchise.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Frodo Franchise<\/a> site, Kristin Thompson has added some\u00a0of her thoughts on the matter as well.\u00a0\u00a0What do the TORN readers think?\u00a0 Talk about it on the message boards!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Update:<\/em><\/strong> Sources at WETA and PJ&#8217;s camp state that there is <em>nothing<\/em> important pending for an August 21st announcement. Special events occur at the WETA Cave all the time, many not involving anyone associated with WETA at all.
