Over at The Noldor Blog<\/a>, there is\u00a0serious speculation as to a potential announcement regarding\u00a0The Hobbit<\/em> around\u00a0August 21st.\u00a0 And if so,\u00a0indications suggest it would be a positive announcement for fans.<\/p>\n

The blog mentions how the Weta Cave is shutting for five days, then closing again a week later for what is called a “very secret private function”.\u00a0\u00a0In addition, a\u00a0large amount of \u00a0Lord Of The Rings<\/em> \/ Hobbit<\/em> sets and props are being pulled from storage, apparently in a somewhat urgent nature. Contacts he has\u00a0spoken to feel an announcement is imminent and that the morale there is very high.<\/p>\n

While this confirms nothing, it does open a window of possibility that something is afoot.\u00a0 At the excellent The Frodo Franchise<\/a> site, Kristin Thompson has added some\u00a0of her thoughts on the matter as well.\u00a0\u00a0What do the TORN readers think?\u00a0 Talk about it on the message boards!<\/p>\n

Update:<\/em><\/strong> Sources at WETA and PJ’s camp state that there is nothing<\/em> important pending for an August 21st announcement. Special events occur at the WETA Cave all the time, many not involving anyone associated with WETA at all.
