\"\"<\/a>As we all know from his\u00a0elequent\u00a0recent departure from The Hobbit<\/em>production, Guillermo del Toro still has very strong feelings\u00a0regarding the future of these films.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a fan, I hope those movies get made,\u201d del Toro mentioned to an audience at ComicCon during\u00a0a\u00a0Don\u2019t Be Afraid of the Dark<\/em> presentation.\u00a0 He added \u201cAnd I hope to God Peter Jackson directs them. They\u2019re beautiful and they\u2019re needed in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The situation\u00a0at MGM is believed to be the main obstacle for getting\u00a0The Hobbit <\/em>off the ground.\u00a0 But the production could ramp up reasonably quickly with del Toro noting that\u00a098 percent of the first movie is already designed along with\u00a0approximately half of the second one.<\/p>\n
