GRAND RAPIDS SYMPHONY OPENS OCTOBER 15 LORD OF THE RINGS REHEARSAL TO PUBLIC<\/strong><\/p>\n

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Oct. 8, 2009 The Grand Rapids Symphony has opened for sale to the public the final rehearsal of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. The final rehearsal will take place Thursday, October 15, 7 pm in DeVos Performance Hall.<\/p>\n

This event was added due to the significant demand, and limited ticket availability, for the Friday, October 16 concert performance. <\/p>\n

Rehearsal attendees will experience all the elements of Friday’s performance: the movie projected on a 20 by 48 foot wide screen as the Symphony, guest vocalist, Symphony Chorus and Youth Chorus perform the music score. This is a rare opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the finishing touches are put on a Symphony performance. Because this is a working rehearsal, there may be starts and stops during the movie. Depending on the rehearsal’s progress, the movie in its entirety may not be shown. <\/p>\n

WHO: Grand Rapids Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and Youth Chorus, guest vocalist Kaitlyn Lusk led by guest conductor Ludwig Wicki <\/p>\n

WHAT: The final rehearsal of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring which includes the movie projected on a 20 by 48 foot wide screen as the music score is performed live.<\/p>\n

WHEN: Thursday, October 15. Rehearsal starts at 7 pm. Because this is a working rehearsal, patrons must be seated no later than 6:45 pm.<\/p>\n

WHERE: DeVos Performance Hall<\/p>\n

TICKETS: All tickets are $42 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at 800\/982-2787 or online at grsymphony.org<\/a>.
