A crime thriller from A History of Violence director David Cronenberg, Eastern Promises tells the story of Nikolai (Mortensen), a mysterious driver for one of London&#8217;s most notorious crime families. When Nikolai crosses paths with a young midwife, he finds his loyalties tested as he is drawn into the family&#8217;s dark secrets.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Written by Steven Knight (Dirty, Pretty Things), the film also stars Naomi Watts (21 Grams), Vincent Cassel (Ocean&#8217;s Thirteen), and Armin Mueller-Stahl (Shine).<\/p>\n<p>The screening will be followed by a Q&#038;A with Mortenson. Back Stage West National Film &#038; TV Editor Jenelle Riley will moderate.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m., at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatre, 8000 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free.
