He&#8217;s acting next to Temuera Morrison in &#8216;Crooked Earth&#8221; and he&#8217;s also appearing in a Maori-language version of &#8220;A Merchant  of Venice,&#8221; so he&#8217;s a busy boy. <\/p>\n<p>In &#8220;Crooked Earth&#8221; Makaore plays Kahu, a charismatic firebrand who has turned his village into a lawless  dope-growing wasteland.
