{"id":20523,"date":"2000-08-23T16:38:25","date_gmt":"2000-08-23T21:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theonering.net\/torwp\/2000\/08\/23\/cast-news-hugo-passes-out-during-play\/"},"modified":"2000-08-23T16:38:25","modified_gmt":"2000-08-23T21:38:25","slug":"cast-news-hugo-passes-out-during-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theonering.net\/torwp\/2000\/08\/23\/20523-cast-news-hugo-passes-out-during-play\/","title":{"rendered":"Cast News: Hugo Passes Out During Play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro\"><img SRC=\"http:\/\/img-www.theonering.net\/images\/frontHW.jpg\" class=\"no-lazyload\"> Our very own Hugo Weaving (Elrond) passed out during a play last week in Australia, read on<\/p>\n<p><i>At its final preview last week, actor Hugo Weaving lost consciousness and slumped on the stage floor as his character Brachiano was strangled by two thugs, forcing a horrified (Director Gale) Edwards to halt the show thinking the depiction of strangulation had been a tad too enthusiastic.<\/p>\n<p>Publicists later said Weaving&#8217;s blackout was caused by influenza and exhaustion as the actor had only recently<br \/>returned from the New Zealand set of &#8220;Lord of the Rings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Weaving, best-known overseas for his roles in &#8220;The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert&#8221; and &#8220;The Matrix,&#8221; could also have been sharing the shock and delight of Edwards at the work&#8217;s invitation to be part of March main-stage season at New York&#8217;s Brooklyn Academy of Music.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>We hope all is well with Hugo, and wish him a quick recovery.
