In an age when Cocteau Twin Elizabeth Fraser\u2019s siren-like linguistics-mangling voice livens the scores of ultra-mainstream The Two Towers, or alternately, sets the mood for Gregg Araki\u2019s angst-laden Mysterious Skin alongside bandmate Robin Guthrie\u2019s chiming guitar, \u201cworld music\u201d no longer carries the same cheesy connotations outside of gothic rock\u2019s inner circle.
