Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Amazon assembled a wide group of Tolkien fans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theonering.net\/torwp\/2022\/05\/09\/113105-the-vibes-of-power-amazon-shares-exciting-rings-of-power-insight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">for this adventure<\/a>, but if anyone on the trip is to be considered a celebrity, it is Dr. Corey Olsen. Known as the <a href=\"http:\/\/Twitter.com\/tolkienprof\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"\">Tolkien Professor<\/a>, he is founder and head of <a href=\"https:\/\/signumuniversity.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Signum University<\/a>, an accredited online-only graduate school which counts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/deaconsbench\/2019\/06\/stephen-colbert-on-tolkein-robert-bolt-loss-and-faith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stephen Colbert as an avid viewer.<\/a> Corey held court from the first introductions, entertaining a revolving circle of fellow Ringers and fans of his work throughout the week. I loved seeing how excited folks were finally to meet him! While I\u2019m sure he will share his thoughts over the coming days and weeks across his many broadcasts on twitch, Corey\u2019s small but powerful statement has made waves, as an acknowledgement of the quality of the showrunners in charge: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Last week, I was invited by the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LOTRonPrime?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LOTRonPrime<\/a> folks, along with a bunch of other internet Tolkien folks, to attend an advanced screening of some footage from the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/RingsofPower?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#RingsofPower<\/a> show and to meet the showrunners. I must say: after meeting them, I feel the show is in VERY good hands.<\/p>&mdash; Tolkien Professor (@tolkienprof) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tolkienprof\/status\/1523688996735496192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 9, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/Tolkiensociety.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tolkien Society<\/a>, currently headed by Shaun Gunner, is probably the most respected LOTR fan group, since its founding while JRR Tolkien was still alive. They have always championed the literary legacy of Tolkien\u2019s works, and often are a strong and balanced community voice among the hype that Hollywood generates. It\u2019s no small thing to earn a positive review from the Tolkien Society, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tolkiensociety.org\/blog\/2022\/05\/i-met-the-team-behind-the-rings-of-power-they-love-tolkien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in their post about Amazon\u2019s event<\/a> Shaun praises what he saw &amp; heard:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The show has been created with a level of craftsmanship and attention-to-detail which is unparalleled, and which is a love letter to the Professor\u2026 this is a level of commitment and interest that can\u2019t simply be faked.
