Never laugh at a live Dragon!
(or Bilbo’s Song)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a chance for some adventure” said he.
\n“A chance to leave the Shire”.
\nLike the the Tooks of old, I could go forth bold
\nAnd throw my doilies on the fire!
\nWell I’ve always dreamed of adventure.
\nOf meeting Big Folk, Dwarf and Elf
\nUntil one day I was on my way, leaving handkerchiefs on the shelf!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out from the Hill, down over the bridge
\nWith my rucksack on my back.
\nAdventure awaits through your garden gates
\nJust keep your feet upon the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A Burglar Hobbit!” told he to them.
\n“He will get you what you need”
\nThen with an outraged hand I joined their band,
\nAnd signed the contract deed.
\nWell now off to the Misty Mountains far
\nGreat treasures for to seek
\nThrough Goblin, Troll and Spider lairs
\nThat would make your knees grow weak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out from the Hill down over the bridge
\nWith my rucksack on my back.
\nAdventure awaits through your garden gates
\nJust keep your feet upon the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Interrupters of feasts!” he cried out loud
\n“Lead them from my hall”
\nThough he could not see an invisible me
\nNor my shadow upon his wall.
\nWell down I went passed the sentry gate.
\nMy colleagues for to find.
\nNow pack them down in barrels dark
\nThat used to hold fine wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out from the Hill down over the bridge
\nWith my rucksack on my back.
\nAdventure awaits through your garden gates
\nJust keep your feet upon the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Go in” said he “and don’t come back!”
\n“‘Til you find what I desire!”
\nBut see could I with the naked eye
\nFrom the glow of Dragon fire.
\nWell thought I, with a heavy sigh, time to face the foe.
\nAnd find this shiny, glowing thing
\nFrom the caverns down below<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out from the Hill down over the bridge
\nWith my rucksack on my back.
\nAdventure awaits through your garden gates
\nJust keep your feet upon the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thief in the shadows!” hissed he to I “Have you come back here for more?”
\nWary was I for I’d seen his fierce eye.
\nTrying to see me as I crept from the door.
\nWell chatted did we and riddles spoke I, though thought my mind ‘He KNOWS!’
\nSo with with a laugh I ran just as fast as I can.
\nBut his flame burned my back and toes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out from the Hill down over the bridge
\nWith my rucksack on my back.
\nAdventure awaits through your garden gates
\nJust keep your feet upon the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So listen well say I to you if rare adventure you do seek,
\nFrom the depths of caverns dim and dark,
\nTo the heights of a mountains peak!
\nWizards and Dwarves and Elven Kings may give you jewels and gold
\nBut laugh in the face of a fierce Dragon Lord
\nand you’ll never get to be old!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the bridge and up to the Hill.
\nWith my treasure on my back.
\nAdventure found, now I’m homeward bound
\nWith my feet upon the track<\/p>\n\n\n\n
