TheOneRing.net is not responsible for poems posting with spelling or grammatical errors.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Ambarussa<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by:\u00a0Laurelindorenan<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I had a dream, little brother<br \/>\nA terror of the night<br \/>\nThat when Father burned the swan-ships<br \/>\nIn that fire dread and bright<br \/>\nYou had crept aboard<br \/>\nTo sleep over the waves<br \/>\nAnd that the flame-lit ocean<br \/>\nWas your grave.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I woke, by icy panic<br \/>\nRobbed of breath<br \/>\nBut found you lay beside me, still<br \/>\nIn sleep, not death.<br \/>\nYour face, a mask of quiet<br \/>\nThat mine lacked<br \/>\nMore peaceful than I&#8217;d seen<br \/>\nSince fire-words sealed our pact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I was quick to Father&#8217;s oath<br \/>\nYou took it slow<br \/>\nSlow to farewell our mother<br \/>\nOr to go.<br \/>\nAnd when the others left<br \/>\nWe swore an oath<br \/>\nThat death would take us<br \/>\nNeither one, or both.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Gone is the hope<br \/>\nI clung to when we came<br \/>\nI guess not what downfall<br \/>\nOur breath will claim<br \/>\nThough death will have its due<br \/>\nFor our rash curse<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ll breathe our last<br \/>\nTogether, as our first.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Th\u00e8oden&#8217;s passing<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by David McG.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As I lay here, body broken, bones shattered<br \/>\nI feel no pain.<br \/>\nI feel calm and strangely satisfied and at peace.<br \/>\nThe soft grass comforts me as I feel the the presence of an old friend. Death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Snowmane.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My most trusted of friends!<br \/>\nHow far we have come to reach this, our moment of glory.<br \/>\nWill they remember how you smashed through spear and shield wall ?<br \/>\nWill they see how you never faltered or failed to rise to my demands?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Snowmane.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Broken now as am I and yet, in death, still my shield.<br \/>\nTirelessly you rode through feared wood and plain to bear me here.<br \/>\nWe broke the Haridrim ranks and took their Black Serpent banner.<br \/>\nMy friend, my companion, my protector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00c8omer<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sister-son and blood of my blood.<br \/>\nI have led you to this place of death and destruction.<br \/>\nYou have not faltered or strayed to the whispers of false allies as did I!<br \/>\nTrue and fearless you are, as befits a Lord of the Riddermark.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00c8omer<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Tall in the saddle you ride to lead the First \u00c8ored.<br \/>\nFierce and proud you have honoured our Kin and fulfilled our pledges and oaths.<br \/>\nKingly you are and King you will be, my beloved Sister-son.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Aragorn<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Arisen we are, we riders of Th\u00e9oden!<br \/>\nFell deeds have been awoken to fire and slaughter.<br \/>\nSpear shaken and shield splintered,<br \/>\nA sword-day and a red day and the sun has risen!<br \/>\nNow at Gondor&#8217;s gate I lay here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Aragorn<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My eyes grow dim and Death stands over me.<br \/>\nI believe in you and kept faith with you, though you have yet to come.<br \/>\nBut come you will, though we parted in doubt at the Dwimorberg were you sought the Dark Door.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Th\u00e9odred<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I see you there my son. Tall and proud and unscathed by the White Hand.<br \/>\nYes I will willingly walk with you to the Golden Hall of Meduseld to join our fore fathers.<br \/>\nFor I have killed the Black Serpent and regained my honour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Th\u00e8odred<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We go now in glory to join B\u00e8ma and Nahar in the everlasting hunt .<br \/>\nThere we shall ride in the warm sun and oceans of green grass and forever watch over our people and lands.<br \/>\nI am ready now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00c8owyn<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;\u00c8owyn?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Lay of King Brian<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>from the heart and hand of<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Veracity O\u2019M.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nAs Bilbo, so Brian<br \/>\nA man of comfort, conversation, and culinary interests<br \/>\nHe would of frequent occasion gather to himself<br \/>\nthose who were of like mind and likes<br \/>\nAnd on such times he told tales vere and feign<br \/>\nTales of heroes, of maidens, of imps and animals<br \/>\nHe sang oft of the fairy realm whence he journeyed<br \/>\nMany miles, many days, hardships and heartwarmings<br \/>\nFilled his time and his travel\u2014of those he sang<br \/>\nTo brothers, sisters, their children and his<br \/>\nAnd upon a magic fiddle he put forth his music<br \/>\nMusic to conjour dreams, images fair and fantastic<br \/>\nMusic to move the heart, well the eye, enchant the mind<br \/>\nMusic, it is said, to coax animals of skills fantastic<br \/>\nTo come close for conversation and company<br \/>\nDragons, unicorns, pegacorns, and pegapigs<br \/>\nHazirim that would dance and swoop in the heavens<br \/>\nAnd on the right note, would light close at hand<br \/>\nAnd listen, and look, and laugh<br \/>\nAt his friends and at his tales<br \/>\nIt (the fiddle!) has come to this humble brother of his<br \/>\nAnd from his hand it was set among the most valuable things<br \/>\nFound on earth or in heaven<br \/>\nCome if you would, and try your hand<br \/>\nAnd see if from the sky you could coax to your side<br \/>\nDragons, unicorns, pegacorns and pegapigs<br \/>\nBut, if you can, make sure you have tales fantastic to tell<br \/>\nAs King Brian, whom we all miss so well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A Legend from Times Forgotten<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by: Quimey DA<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nNeither sword nor bow<br \/>\nCould tell the fate<br \/>\nOf those lands that<br \/>\nWhere under moon, and under spell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nThe brightest steel, of mighty spears<br \/>\nCould not undone, what had been made.<br \/>\nThe kingdoms there, they felt the doom<br \/>\nAnd fear then, filled all their souls.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nFor It was made with malice great<br \/>\nThe heart so dark, in turmoil burned.<br \/>\nThe other one deceived and slain<br \/>\nHis name preserved, beyond the times of mortal lands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nHe looked for it, no rest no sleep<br \/>\nHis army bound to the oath they took<br \/>\nTo fear the One and to serve Him<br \/>\nBehind the walls, and towers dim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nIt called him loud, He could not hear<br \/>\nBut swift as wind, nine horses sped<br \/>\nTo lands unknown, in quest for it<br \/>\nTo look for him who stole the fire<br \/>\nAnd wields the wicked, almighty power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to The Great Hall of Poets, our regular monthly feature showcasing the talent of Middle-earth fans.
