Web of Deceit<\/strong><\/h4>\n

What is this place Samwise? Why has he led us here?
\nIt smells of death, it reeks of fear
\nOh why has he led us here?
\nThe tunnels seem so vast Sam, and yet they\u2019re closing in.
\nThey stifle air and choke out light
\nOh Sam. What\u2019s this place we\u2019re in?<\/p>\n

That Gollum, Master Frodo. That sneaking, skulking thing!
\nHe\u2019s tricked us, as I knew he would.
\nHe wants only the Ring!
\nThe Black Gate was impossible, he wanted us too see.
\nTo make us choose this awful path.
\nHe tricked us, you and me!<\/p>\n

Did you hear that Mister Frodo? Did you hear that rasping sound?
\nI fear that something hunts here.
\nIn these tunnels underground.
\nScuffle\u2026..Stop\u2026\u2026 Scuffle\u2026.Stop
\nI feel the danger closing.
\nBlast that filthy Smeagol!
\nThat sneaking , skulking thing.<\/p>\n

Quiet yourself now Samwise. We have to carry on.
\nThe darkness is consuming me,
\nI fear I have not long.
\nThe Ring is calling out Sam, to what I do not know?
\nBut of one thing I am certain of,
\nIt\u2019s forward we must go!<\/p>\n

I see it! Mister Frodo Sir, I see its gleaming eyes.
\nShining in the darkness there
\nAnd us stuck here like flies!
\nIt\u2019s coming! Mr Frodo sir, it\u2019s time to stand and fight.
\nBut wait now Mr Frodo.
\nDon\u2019t you have the Lady\u2019s Light?<\/p>\n

\u201cAiya E\u00e4rendil elenion ancalima!\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s blinded by the light Sam. Hear how it shrieks in pain!
\nHold the light and steady your hand
\nLet\u2019s hope it\u2019s not in vain!
\nI\u2019ll cut a way through these clinging webs that hold fast to our feet
\nThough I fear we\u2019re caught already in strands
\nof Smeagol\u2019s dark deceit!<\/p>\n

Hurry on now Samwise, it\u2019s time to chance our fate.
\nQuickly up this path now,
\nI pray it\u2019s not too \u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Guardians of the Night<\/strong><\/h4>\n

They stand in the night as a guardian to the
\ncold traveller. Their pale faces shining
\nto light his path in the darkness. They guide him
\nhome to the glowing hearth.
\nHe sees his mother\u2019s eyes ahead of him,
\nred from weeping at his departure
\nHe remembered her words to him.
\nShe told him of the guardians in the night
\nthose that lead wayward travelers home, and
\nguard their paths throughout their wanderings.
\nThe faces in the night lead him to a picturesque
\ncottage, flowers lay in neat beds, roses by the door.
\nWindow boxes overflow in bursts of colour.
\nThe moonlight gives the setting an ethereal look, as
\nsmoke rises from the little chimney. He opens
\nthe gate and walks the well-trodden path to the door.
\nHe lifts the latch, listening to the creak
\nof the unoiled hinges. An old woman sits
\nknitting by the fire, head now gray, shoulders
\nbent with age. Her face now wrinkled still bears
\nthe same smile of years long past.
\nShe raises her head, tired eyes looking
\nat the bearded man standing in
\nher doorway. A faint smile spreads
\nacross her lips, as she looks him over,
\nshe sees in the man, the face of a son, long missing
\nfrom her home, but remaining in her memory.
\nThe night guardians brought him safely home,
\nacross many raging seas and over snowy
\nmountains, to the place of his birth. A small
\ncottage in the woods, protected by the
\nguardians of the night.<\/p>\n

Merry and Theoden<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You shall be like a father to me
\nAnd you shall be as my son<\/em>
\nFor you have a courage few bother to see<\/em>
\nAnd you are as grand as the sun<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you my tales of a land far away
\nI will smile at your laughter and song<\/em>
\nAnd long by my side, at my hand you will stay<\/em>
\nAnd I will stay all the day long<\/p>\n

And if into battle my fealty calls
\nYou\u2019ll be safe til the battle is won<\/em>
\nAt war even power and loyalty falls<\/em>
\nBut I cannot like cowards run!<\/p>\n

Did I not give you my oath and my sword?
\nYour heart is unmatched by your size<\/em>
\nTo take you to war unprepared shames your lord<\/em>
\nStaying\u2019s equal a shame to my eyes!<\/p>\n

Please, I don\u2019t want to be parted like this
\nOur horses are swift; you know not how to ride<\/em>
\nYou must stay behind, great though your heart is<\/em>
\nCould I not to some stirrup be tied?<\/p>\n

My heart sorrows. My king, my liegelord, farewell!
\nI fear for that lad; no, I fear for us all<\/em>
\nI could not bear it if he by me fell<\/em>
\nI follow in secret; he won\u2019t friendless fall<\/p>\n

He is slain!\u2013 or near death\u2013 I leap to his side
\nSwordthain, like son: how came you at hand?<\/em>
\nI\u2019m not long from last sleep\u2013 no, do not cry!<\/em>
\nMy lord, I am sorry! I broke your command,<\/p>\n

I wanted to help\u2013 I thought I could save\u2013
\nAs my child, I have loved you; at peace may you be<\/em>
\nI forgive you; weep not, I know you were brave\u2013<\/em>
\nNo!
\nSo fall one like a father to me.<\/p>\n
