Beneath the Trees<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Galadriel<\/em>
\nI long have stood beneath the trees,
\nthe stars of Varda o\u2019er my head,
\nYet my heart dreams of azure seas
\nfar removed from dark Morgoth\u2019s dread.<\/p>\n

Morgoth reigns; I weep tears of grief
\nfor my beloved Valinor,
\nIn shadows he comes as a thief
\nto steal the lights that high did soar.<\/p>\n

Telperion, O Laurelin,
\nsilver and golden you once shone,
\nYour glory robbed by Morgoth\u2019s sin:
\nthe Elves have fled, the Dark Lord\u2019s won.<\/p>\n

Now I wander beneath the trees,
\nmy eyes upon the stars above,
\nTears are falling on golden leaves,
\nblanketing the forest I love.<\/p>\n

His hand ghosts gently o\u2019er my cheek,
\nhe lifts my head to meet his eyes:
\nI see his love, his eyes I seek
\nfor Celeborn knows why I cry.<\/p>\n

Celeborn<\/em>
\nShe long has stood beneath the trees,
\nthe stars of Varda o\u2019er her head,
\nShe dreams of far-off azure seas
\nfar removed from dark Morgoth\u2019s dread.<\/p>\n

I feel her grief, I see her tears,
\nmy lovely, cold Galadriel:
\nHer agony to my heart sears,
\nfor I love my Galadriel.<\/p>\n

Now she wanders \u2018neath the trees,
\nher eyes gaze on the stars above,
\nHer tears sparkle on golden leaves,
\nblanketing the forest we love.<\/p>\n

Her face is cold and fair and white
\nbeneath the sun and shadowed moon;
\nAlone she strays within the night,
\nbut to the seas she will drift soon.<\/p>\n

Beneath the trees of L\u00f3rien
\ntogether now we wander long.
\nThe darkness grows in tree and fen,
\nbut mingled yet will be our song.<\/p>\n
