Secrets from the future, secrets from<br \/>\nChildren and men.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The maiden with silver hair smiles, and<br \/>\nListens to the secrets being shared.<br \/>\nFor she is the only one who can hear<br \/>\nThem, only her.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Secrets she would keep dear.<br \/>\nThe maiden with silver hair smiles,<br \/>\nAs the wind blows by.<br \/>\nShe listens silently as the night<br \/>\nCalls to her.<br \/>\nThe night calls to the stars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The night calls to her,<br \/>\nAnd soon the maiden with<br \/>\nSilver hair, flowing past her knees<br \/>\nDances again.<br \/>\nAnd soon whispering rain is heard,<br \/>\nUpon the horizon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Soon a faint, giggle is heard.<br \/>\nAnd a voice as gentle as silk is heard.<br \/>\nHer tongue is foreign,<br \/>\nAn ancient language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But it seems to call to the rain,<br \/>\nTo the wind, to the moon, to the stars,<br \/>\nTo night, to day.<br \/>\nAs the maiden with silver hair speaks,<br \/>\nThough not alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A quieter voice has joined her own, as the<br \/>\nMoon shines upon golden hair.<br \/>\nAnother maiden is standing with her,<br \/>\nClothed in white, and full of light.<br \/>\nHer ears though slightly pointed,<br \/>\nShow through her hair.<br \/>\nShe is Galadriel, the lady of light.<br \/>\nThe maiden with silver hair, speaks<br \/>\nVoice as quiet as night. Her ears are pointed as<br \/>\nWell it seems.<br \/>\nElves both of these fair maidens are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Both are ancient, both are wise.<br \/>\nBoth have seen the world that comes<br \/>\nAnd goes.<br \/>\nTheir voices, soft as snow, gentle<br \/>\nAs rain, though foreign to<br \/>\nThine ear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Talk of the past, what is to come<br \/>\nAnd what has gone. And soon silence<br \/>\nIs heard.<br \/>\nThe maiden with golden hair,<br \/>\nHas now gone with the wind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As the maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nSmiles and soon she is dancing again,<br \/>\nWhile leaves dance around her and wind<br \/>\nWhispers to her once more.<br \/>\nAs the bell tolls midnight, the rain<br \/>\nIs soon to come.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And the Elven maiden with silver,<br \/>\nFlowing hair, and midnight blue gown,<br \/>\nSings as her work is done. The rain sings around her,<br \/>\nThough she is not wet, giving life to the land,<br \/>\nTo the earth she stands on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For she smiles, as others,<br \/>\nBoth men and hobbits, dwarves and elves<br \/>\nSleep, for she would protect them,<br \/>\nAs her mother does.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The elven maiden with silver hair,<br \/>\nSoftly sings as the rains fall, the earth absorbs<br \/>\nThe life giving rain. The leaves shiver as rain sparkles<br \/>\nLike early morning dew, from a star\u2019s tear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The maiden with silver hair, dances once<br \/>\nAgain, as the land rejoices.<br \/>\nAnd soon her singing is heard in the<br \/>\nWind, in the rain, among the stars and<br \/>\nIn our dreams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though now she is gone,<br \/>\nBut I know she will return.<br \/>\nFor she is the elven maiden with silver hair<br \/>\nThe guardian of secrets,<br \/>\nThe guardian of rain,<br \/>\nThe guardian of night,<br \/>\nThe guardian of wind,<br \/>\nThe guardian of our dreams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Her mother Galadriel, always watches<br \/>\nOver her, guiding her.<br \/>\nThough the maiden with silver hair,<br center;\">In the halls a terrible silence falls<br \/>\nAnd lone ravens mourn with lamenting calls<br \/>\nThey wait for the day of the King\u2019s return<br \/>\nHearts hoping for him, they yearn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of Erebor<br \/>\nThe dwarves dwell there no more<br \/>\nWandering lost in the wilderness<br \/>\nThe harsh wind acts as their only caress<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of broken ruin<br \/>\nThe blood of Durin will return soon<br \/>\nLed by the crownless Prince with the oaken shield<br \/>\nThe dragon\u2019s might shall finally yield.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In the halls of Durin\u2019s folk<br \/>\nLies a sleeping King, many\u2019ve spoke<br \/>\nHe waits in rest, with his kin, until the demise<br \/>\nThen from heaven, he shall arise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Last of the Ring Bearers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Bracegirdle<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On sun-bright summer mornings with clippers and a hoe<br \/>\nHe\u2019d take the pleasant short walk to the top of Bagshot Row.<br \/>\nWhile humming soft a song he would slowly stroll along,<br \/>\nPondering the day\u2019s work \u2013 how to help the garden grow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When tales overheard of Elves and Rings and Foe immensely strong;<br \/>\nOf Master Frodo\u2019s leaving \u2013 and fear he did not belong.<br \/>\nBut the Grey Pilgrim knew that the heart of Sam was true,<br \/>\nAnd this son of Gaffer Gamgee would get to go along.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Through Old Forest and on to Bree, Sam met the Future King.<br \/>\nThen secret ways through reeking fen and midges with a Sting.<br \/>\nFrom Hilltop to the Ford where cold the waters roared;<br \/>\nA fate then lade at Rivendell \u2013 Nine Walkers and The Ring.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In Khazad-d\u00fbm a great loss \u2013 The Fellowship now eight.<br \/>\nThen Golden Wood too short a rest, and on to River Great.<br \/>\nTale now fully told of Sam\u2019s faithfulness so bold.<br \/>\nThen leisure trek to Shire so dear to fulfil his fate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To Elanor he did entrust the Red Book to hold tight,<br \/>\nTo tell the tales of days gone by, the days of dark and light.<br \/>\nSamwise with Daughter Fair then a final walk did share.<br \/>\nA slow walk of sweet sadness to Grey Havens bright.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now, Last of the Ring Bearers, Middle-earth he did leave,<br \/>\nAnd Straight Way was taken as grace he did receive.<br \/>\nPast friendships now unfold and Sam\u2019s tears fall as gold.<br \/>\nAnd Aman is further blest on this unknown summer\u2019s eve.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Raven Crown of Erebor<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Brianna L<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The glistening black and shining gold,<br \/>\nUpon his brow it sits<br \/>\nAncient treasure, but only one<br \/>\nCan claim it ere&#8217; the battle&#8217;s done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The raven strong, his wings outspread<br \/>\nFlying on a golden bed<br \/>\nThis great symbol of majesty,<br \/>\nYet with it comes such tragedy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That black raven, with his broad wings<br \/>\nPower it gives, yet doom it brings:<br \/>\nThe gold for the lust, and the black for the curse;<br \/>\nThey see as he leaves them; he&#8217;s getting worse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Alas for that he cannot see<br \/>\nWhat, for all his life did he<br \/>\nFear to become, to the cursed gold succumb;<br \/>\nThat golden crown brings death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He hears voices, from afar off<br \/>\nForetelling his doom, and warning him;<br \/>\nThe sickness which threatened to be his death, ere&#8217; long<br \/>\nIs from his proud and brave mind drawn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">His mind is clear, his heart is pure<br \/>\nHis courage back; his intention sure<br \/>\nTheir King is returned, and the treacherous crown<br \/>\nIs discarded, the sickness thrown down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Of Arwen Evenstar<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Ludwina Marie<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In Elvenhome of Rivendell,<br \/>\nwhere Elrond Half-Elven gladly dwells;<br \/>\nFair is his land, clear water flows<br \/>\nlike starlight caught in crystal shone.<br \/>\nGay are his halls, the sparkling wells<br \/>\ntinkled merrily like golden bells.<br \/>\nFair Elven lords in carven stone<br \/>\nand dancing Elven maids of old.<br \/>\nForgotten runes of ancient lore<br \/>\nwere placed upon his mighty door.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There music rang, forever sweet,<br \/>\nthe golden sun there brightly lit.<br \/>\nNo evil shadow ever falls,<br \/>\nno darkness touches shining walls<br \/>\nIn Imladris, the Elvenhome,<br \/>\nthe mighty rest and cease to roam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though fair was Elrond\u2019s Rivendell,<br \/>\nfairer still, Arwen Und\u00f3miel.<br \/>\nIn L\u00fathien\u2019s image come again:<br \/>\nEvenstar of the Elven race.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Dark as the twilight was her hair,<br \/>\nthe light in her eyes, none could mar.<br \/>\nThe white of her arms shone like snow<br \/>\non a winter\u2019s day; and her brow,<br \/>\nadorned with glittering silver lace;<br \/>\nHer soft grey raiment and her face,<br \/>\nveiled with wisdom and mem\u2019ry old,<br \/>\nYouthful was she and yet not so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The birds sang sweetly at her feet,<br \/>\nthe forest rejoiced when they meet.<br \/>\nThe starlight falls about her hair \u2013<br \/>\non Tin\u00faviel, the Elven-fair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Above all else did Elrond prize,<br \/>\nabove all counsels of the wise;<br \/>\nBefore the sun and silver moon,<br \/>\nthe countless stars, the blooming fields.<br \/>\nEre any mighty Elven lord,<br \/>\nere val\u2019iant man or dwarven hoard,<br \/>\nabove all gifts of Galadriel \u2013<br \/>\nWas Arwen, Lady Und\u00f3miel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>~The Treasures of Middle Earth~<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>by Hoyt H.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 1 Prologue<\/strong><br \/>\nThe treasure of yore, in Middle Earth,<br \/>\nThe smelted ore, of untold worth.<br \/>\nGems beyond the count men, gold beyond all comprehension,<br \/>\nSilver steel worth gold times ten, drew all the free people\u2019s attention.<br \/>\nFor every single treasure found, evil followed after,<br \/>\nCrying was the only sound, and grief drowned out all laughter.<br \/>\nThe mighty jewels of massive wealth, and great heaps of works of gold,<br \/>\nWere stolen away with evil stealth. as it is in all tales told<br \/>\nWhen a prize of any worth, is found by the wise,<br \/>\nBe it from sea or from the earth. it\u2019s stolen before their eyes<br \/>\nThe want for treasure has many names, dragon sickness, greed,<br \/>\nAll the riches of ancient fames, were subject to evil deeds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 2 Mithril<\/strong><br \/>\nMithril bright from Moria\u2019s mine, shines like silver steel,<br \/>\nA shining ore with a burnished shine. as sleek as a slithering eel.<br \/>\nStronger than iron triple forged, worth more than any gold,<br \/>\nMines were stripped and deep shafts gorged, to mine the true silver of old.<br \/>\nGleaming like rain, strong as a mountain,<br \/>\nBright without stain, like a glittering fountain.<br \/>\nMithril, metal of Durin\u2019s folk, ordains the white city\u2019s gate,<br \/>\nA gleaming sheet that can&#8217;t broke, to protect against forces of hate.<br \/>\nBeneath Caradras cruel, in Moria\u2019s deep rock cave<br \/>\nThe dwarves they struck with many a tool, the dwarvish race was brave.<br \/>\nThey braved the Balrog\u2019s darkened lair, to mine the hardened silver treasure<br \/>\nBravely mining the meatal fair to bring the dwarf king pleasure.<br \/>\nThe Balrog took the Mithril, and fled to Kazad-Dum,<br \/>\nIt became a place of dark cold chill, it became king Durin\u2019s tomb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 3 ~The Arkenstone~<\/strong><br \/>\nThe jewel beyond all measure the Arkenstone of Thror,<br \/>\nWas a kingly treasure, The heart of Erebor<br \/>\nThis gem of pure starlight, was found deep within the stone,<br \/>\nA crystal gem of transparent white. adorned king Thror\u2019s throne<br \/>\nThe heart of the lonely peak, beside the running river,<br \/>\nThe jewel was strong it made dwarves weak, that clear and shining sliver.<br \/>\nThe jewel of ancient splendor, was the pride if all dwarf kind,<br \/>\nIt did the dwarves hearts render, and corrupted the kings mind.<br \/>\nThe greatest jewel of the wild north, it drew the gaze of all<br \/>\nTo seize the gem a worm came forth, and Erebor did fall.<br \/>\nThe dragon Smaug came for the stone, the dwarves were slain and beaten,<br \/>\nThe dwarves were stranded all alone, and some were burned an eaten.<br \/>\nThe dragon descended on the mound, of heaping gold and jewels,<br \/>\nHe gathered the treasure all around, the dwarvin kings were fools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 4~The Trees of the Valar~<\/strong><br \/>\nThe trees of the Valar the sun and moon, were bright upon the sky.<br \/>\nGreater in power than any rune, they stretched to reaches high.<br \/>\nThe trees of elves were beautiful, they shone of gold and silver light,<br \/>\nTo them the elves were dutiful, for they lit the day and night.<br \/>\nWhite and shining boughs, and leaves of brightest beams,<br \/>\nAll who beheld wept and were cowed, at the light as clear as streams.<br \/>\nThe power of Iluvatar, was poured into these trees,<br \/>\nThey caught the light of every star, for all the elves to see.<br \/>\nBut Morgoth the dark lord, the most evil of them all,<br \/>\nHated the beauty in the trees stored, so the spider he sent to maul.<br \/>\nThe dark ones plan was cunning, the spider destroyed the light,<br \/>\nWhere once was beacons stunning, now was only death and night.<br \/>\nThe trees were pulled out of the ground, Ungoliant stole their power,<br \/>\nElves were fallen all around, it was there darkest hour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 5 ~The Silmarils~<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Silmarils were precious stones, the held the light of the trees,<br \/>\nThe trees now bare and lifeless bones, and left to rot and freeze,<br \/>\nThese Silmarils were crafted, by elves with magic skills,<br \/>\nThe trees power in them grafted, by the mighty elven wills.<br \/>\nGlobes of crystal transparent, and filled with burning light,<br \/>\nLike the trees which were their parent, they were a noble sight.<br \/>\nWith the trees destroyed by evil, and Morgoth seizing the land,<br \/>\nIn a time of great upheaval, the elves did make there stand.<br \/>\nBut Morgoth descended, and stole also these orbs a-glowing,<br \/>\nWith middle Earth upended, evil seeds were sowing.<br \/>\nElves were dead and weeping, Feanor took his oath,<br \/>\nEvil things were creeping they took the trees and Silmarils both.<br \/>\nThose were dark days for the wise, Morgoth took the stones,<br \/>\nHe stole away with his prize, and set them on his throne.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 6~The Magic Rings~<\/strong><br \/>\nBut perhaps the greatest prize of all, the magic rings of old,<br \/>\nMore magic than any spell or thrall, forged of enchanted gold.<br \/>\nPerfect bands of metal ore, polished till they shone.<br \/>\nThe most powerful of magic lore, shaped and set with stones,<br \/>\nMade by elvish craftsman, tricked by Sauron\u2019s spell,<br \/>\nFor the elves and dwarves and kings of man, and one for the dark lord fell.<br \/>\nThere magic seemed a splendid gift, but it truly was a curse,<br \/>\nTo evil use these rings did shift, but the one ring was the worst.<br \/>\nMade by elves to be a boon, but by Sauron defiled,<br \/>\nCarved with many an ancient rune, and with black magic styled.<br \/>\nThe dwarvin rings were taken, in men the elves lost faith,<br \/>\nTheir trust in kings was shaken, as each became a wraith.<br \/>\nSauron daily grew in might, elves slowly grew weak,<br \/>\nHe stole the rings out of sight, in his blackened peak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VERSE 7 ~Epilogue~<\/strong><br \/>\nWhile it often seems that all, That\u2019s good is stole away.<br \/>\nThat for every leap there is a fall, But for every nights there\u2019s day.<br \/>\nWhile the Balrog took the Mithril fine, the wizard slew the creature,<br \/>\nThe dwarves returned to Moria\u2019s mine, and restored its every feature.<br \/>\nThe Arkenstone was claimed by Smaug, but the dwarves reclaimed their home.<br \/>\nThey cleared cave of the smoky fog, and replaced the jewel on its throne.<br \/>\nThe Valar trees had died from rot, the spider was expelled,<br \/>\nMorgoth was defeated and caught, to pay for the trees he felled.<br \/>\nMorgoth was bound for eternity, the Silmarils too he did take,<br \/>\nNow they rest in fire, sky and the sea, the hope of the elves he could not break.<br \/>\nFinally the rings of power were cast, by Sauron the second dark lord.<br \/>\nDestroyed like villains of ages past by bravery, fire, and sword.<br \/>\nSo while every good king has his foe, and every treasure a thief,<br \/>\nGood things come when bad
