Fili\u2019s Lament<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Me staring back was your very first sight,
\nWhen you opened your eyes that night.
\nYou learned to crawl as I learned to walk,
\nYou learned to eat as I learned to talk.
\nYour very first word was my own name,
\nThe best of friends is what we became.
\nThorin gave us wood shields and swords,
\nHe told us stories of dragons and hoards,
\nWe dreamt of adventure, we played pretend,
\nIf I was an orc, your play bow you\u2019d bend,
\nIf you were an orc, I\u2019d slash my sword,
\nWe were together, we were never bored.
\nWe\u2019d spin long tales of glory and gold,
\nWe talked of what we\u2019d do when old,
\nWe talked of treasure, of battles we\u2019d fight,
\nWe talked of fame, of strength, of might,
\nWe soon were men, though quite young,
\nStill we dreamt, when songs were sung,
\nOf winning the war, of quenched dragon fire,
\nAnd when we journeyed out to the Shire,
\nWe followed our leader, our captain, our king.
\nWe went merry, many a song we\u2019d sing,
\nWe raced our ponies, we gazed at stars,
\nWe escaped together, from Thranduil\u2019s bars.
\nI worried over you, but we had best of fun,
\nSometimes we rode, sometimes we\u2019d run,
\nWe always sang, told tales of treasure,
\nWe braided hair, our beards we\u2019d measure,
\nWe grew more solemn as the dragon drew near,
\nBut we grew not afraid, we did not feel fear,
\nThorin was our leader, and Bilbo had a ring,
\nWe were Durin\u2019s sons, we did not fear a thing.
\nBut when Thorin descended to madness,
\nAnd I saw in your eyes pain and sadness,
\nWhen innumerable ranks, we charged,
\nWhen through shield and spear we barged,
\nWhen the sword smote through my breast,
\nWhen the lance struck through your chest,
\nWhen bleeding I fell into the cold dark mud,
\nTried to scream but what came was only blood,
\nYou stumbled towards me but could not stand,
\nYou crawled to me, I reached for your hand,
\nWe cried together and thought sadly of old,
\nWe had thought battles were all glory and gold,
\nYou shuddered and asked if you were dying,
\nI said no, though we both knew I was lying,
\nI said you should sleep, I\u2019ll sing you a song,
\nI sang to you of far away caves, of rivers long,
\nI sang to you of mother, of laughter and love,
\nI sang to you of the Arkenstone stars above.
\nBlood poured from my mouth as I whispered to you,
\nYour beautiful face began to take a grey hue,
\nWe held each other, you whispered good bye,
\nI remembered when you said you\u2019d never die.
\nYour eyes fluttered closed, you breathed your last,
\nI told you I loved you, remembered days long past,
\nWe were children who didn\u2019t know fear,
\nI closed my eyes and drew you near,
\nAnd then in the bloodied evening grey,
\nI dropped your hand and slipped away.<\/p>\n

The Battle of the Pelennor<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In front of the City
\nThe orcs show no pity.
\nWhile women are weeping
\nIn death, men are sleeping.<\/p>\n

The battle was almost lost:
\nGreat was the orcs\u2019 grim cost.
\nWhen horns commenced to ring,
\nAnd the Horse-lords began to sing.<\/p>\n

Forward they charged and fast,
\nAnd though their army was not vast,
\nThey slew the Enemy and sang
\nAs sword on shield began to clang.<\/p>\n

Yet it was going very ill:
\nMen of Harad came to kill.
\nThe King fought well, but soon was slain
\nUpon that blood-red, grassy plain.<\/p>\n

But upon the dawn of newborn day,
\nWhen sun in her lonely rest still lay,
\nThere came upon the blood-stained river
\nThe Dead that caused all men to shiver.<\/p>\n

Wielding shining swords they ran,
\nAs seasoned warriors only can.
\nDismayed, the orcs threw down their shields,
\nEnding the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.<\/p>\n

\nThe command comes from on high on the RUINS
\nThe Anduin bleeds & she’s no longer the Wall she was in our antiquity
\nSend forth all LEGIONS and take the city!
\nShow no pity for the Hammer has fallen to shatter!
\nMordor has come & our doom will come after!
\nThe ‘deadly servant’ of the great Eye has revealed himself with war & tide
\nFlee for your lives & fall for the White Tower has an empty hall & the blood of Numenor hears the ending call
\nLight the BEACONS for the ‘Witch King’ has sent forth all LEGIONS<\/p>\n
