Nam\u00e1ri\u00eb<\/strong><\/h4>\n

To the West,
\nTo the ever-lasting light of the Blessed Land,
\nFor now the ages have weighed upon my soul,
\nAnd the eternal life that blessed me once
\nHave now turned into a curse.
\nTo the West,
\nFor what is the sight of Minas Tirith
\nCompared to the eternal beauty of Tirion upon the hill?
\nAnd the White Tree of Gondor
\nTo the ever-lasting majesty of the Undying Lands
\nBut a silvered mirror of ancient glory,
\nNow meaningless and void?
\nTo the West,
\nWhere my soul shall forever rest on Mandos\u2019s silent halls,
\nFor my eyes see now but darkness,
\nAnd death was sent forth upon my kin.
\nThere is no more hope on this fading land for me,
\nAnd I\u2019ve seen it\u2019s baleful fate,
\nFor men shall now rule over this Earth,
\nAnd my people will be forgoten with the years.
\nBut shall I miss this brave and ancient land
\nThat my eyes shall see no more,
\nFor on this now forsaken mountains,
\nHills, valleys and rivers,
\nOn these deep and now hollow caves and fortresses,
\nHave we for long lived and died,
\nOn this mighty land of men
\nWe have fought for hope and light,
\nBlood have been spilled,
\nAnd many lifes have been taken,
\nBut our spirits were never broken,
\nOr our origin forsaken.
\nYet now the memory of this heroic past
\nCauses me but grief and pain,
\nAnd there\u2019s no relief here for my weeping soul.
\nThe burning flame that brought us here is now but ashes,
\nCold and grey,
\nEvermore carried away,
\nFading in the whispering Wind.
\nAnd on the silvered ships shall I return to our luminous, most beloved Land.
\nNow I say farewell my friends,
\nMay the blessed light of the West forever shine upon your fate,
\nAnd may we meet once more after you pass away,
\nOn the silent house of Mandos,
\nOn the distant, undying West.<\/p>\n

Lament of D\u00eds<\/strong><\/h4>\n

My two children are lying at my feet,
\ndeath in their faces, so peaceful and sweet.
\nO Il\u00favatar, what can I have done
\nto deserve this loss of life?<\/p>\n

The tears drop heavy from my face,
\nmy heart has been struck by a mace.
\nDeath: how cold, how cruel
\nto take my only sons from me!<\/p>\n

My sons have entered Eru\u2019s halls,
\nthough, heartbroken, their mother calls.
\nO F\u00edli, K\u00edli, do not forget she
\nwho lingers on the fading earth.<\/p>\n

Elanor<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Lothl\u00f3rien was abandoned and
\nThus died the flowers of that land;
\nIn Middle-earth sunstars bloomed no more
\nBut one \u2013 and that was Elanor.<\/p>\n

A Hobbit lass with curling locks
\nOf golden ringlets; dressed in frocks
\nBefitting well her folk and kin
\nAnd flaunting prettily her grin.<\/p>\n

Her eyes that sparkle wondrous fair
\nAnd blue, improve her yellow hair.
\nThough sometimes they are full of cheek
\nAt other times are sweet and meek.<\/p>\n

Firstborn daughter of Samwise
\nThe Brave, \u2018tis not a great surprise
\nThat such a girl as she was taken
\nTo be the royal queen\u2019s handmaiden.<\/p>\n

When beautiful and grown, she wed
\nA young lad who was named Fastred.
\nThey lived in Westmarch, green with flowers.
\nTheir children Fairbairns of the Towers.<\/p>\n

And when Sam up and took
\nHis leave of Middle-Earth, they kept his book,
\nAnd lived in simple Hobbit ways
\nUntil the end of all their days.<\/p>\n
