class=\"intro\"><em>by Nomad1420<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The silent hill stood lonely in the dimness of the eve<br \/>\nWhen master Samwise Gamgee left in search of Havens Grey<br \/>\nHis Rosie had departed since, and longing for reprieve<br \/>\nHe slowly walked along the road, remembering the way<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">His mind began to drift to pleasant images he\u2019d seen<br \/>\nRecalling friendships past and wondering where they had gone<br \/>\nHe thought of Elrond\u2019s valley and Lothlorien\u2019s many greens<br \/>\nWhile traveling down the road beneath a melancholy dawn<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2018Twas there midway into his journey, sounds came from behind<br \/>\nOf horses wildly galloping and voices clear in song<br \/>\nHe turned and then his eyes began to well for in his mind<br \/>\nHe much desired to see his friends before his journey long<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then two ponies came around the corner at a trot<br \/>\n\u2018Twas Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took in grand array<br \/>\nThey both came riding up to Samwise for whom they had sought<br \/>\nAnd to his great delight they fellowshipped with him that day<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cYoung Frodo lad had tipped us off that you were leaving us,\u201d<br \/>\nSaid Pippin with a glare that would have made an Uruk shrink<br \/>\nThe three embraced and laughed and cried, they walked until the dusk<br \/>\nThen sat upon the roadside, made a fire and shared a drink.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">They didn\u2019t speak of victories or losses or of war<br \/>\nThey spoke no word about the pains they suffered in the past<br \/>\nThey reminisced and Sam would often quote some elvish lore<br \/>\nThey talked about the harvest and if Autumn\u2019s cool would last<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">They simply, and in hobbit fashion, spoke of hobbit life<br \/>\nThey pondered on the quality of next year\u2019s weed and beer<br \/>\nWould Rosie lass accept and become Bingo Proudfoot\u2019s wife?<br \/>\nThen Sam began to weep for he would miss those things so dear<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">They all were weary from the walk and drifted off to sleep<br \/>\nThe new moon hung above them and the stars shone clear and bright<br \/>\nThey dreamed of towers and of battles, waters dark and deep<br \/>\nFor still their memories held terrors darker than the night<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But morning light began to shine, forgotten dreams all gone<br \/>\nWithout a word they packed and headed down the Elvish road<br \/>\nAnd finally before them stood the Havens in the dawn<br \/>\nA white ship gleaming beckoned Sam and there Samwise abode<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The ship passed out of sight and took the Straight Way to the west<br \/>\nThen Merry stared and Pippin wept but smiles stood on their face<br \/>\nThey mounted two young ponies, singing songs and making jest<br \/>\nPippin spurred his pony on then, picking up the pace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~*~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: style=\"text-align: center;\">Forbidding oaths<br \/>\nfly on gargoyle wings<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Fate\u2019s arrow<br \/>\npricks like lightning and burns a mortal brand<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Fabled pride<br \/>\nsnuffs out at<br \/>\nFolly\u2019s last stand<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~*~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: bright.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Music, Music of the Creation of Arda<br \/>\nMusic of Manw\u00eb and Aul\u00eb and Varda<br \/>\nAll the Ain\u00far who sang the Song\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I heard there of Il\u00favatar The One<br \/>\n\u201cBehold! Give this witness to those thee trust<br \/>\nSing them the song of the Glory of the Elves<br \/>\nAnd make them belive they will never be lost.\u201c<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Witness
