I long for the trees,I long for the waves,

\nBut the beauty of sunshine through leaves is like jewels

White wind swallowed up the clearest of dawns
\nAnd Faramir stood alone on the precipice of his city<\/p>\n
Beneath him were the sounds of fear, the curtailed weeping of an imminent loss
\nHe knew it was nothing but the close flapping of Death\u2019s wings descending over him lower and lower<\/p>\n
Above him stood the White Tree of Gondor in the Court of the Fountain
\nShining arms and shields flashing, flags unfurled in the might of the deadly wind<\/p>\n
Earlier he had stood before his father
\nHe had been mocked for his honesty
\nTold on his face he was wrong not to have brought the One Ring to Minas Tirith\u2019s safety
\nBoromir would have done better, he wouldn\u2019t have succumbed to his own character
\nBut would have thought only of the resurrection of his pride, the rekindling of Gondor\u2019s famed history and line
\nBut Faramir hadn\u2019t,
\nNow he wondered if he was weaker than his brother and father
\nWhy wasn\u2019t he ever not in love with power?
\nA strange fluttering broke out within his silvered chest
\nIncompetent, fearful of consequences, a coward for his father
\nA brief, humiliating shadow of his brother\u2019s glory,
\nHe felt so incredibly defeated
\nHe bowed his head and stood at a defining moment
\nHe made his biggest mistake;
\nReturned to his palace, broken by a Southron arrow and the Black Breath
\nThe Nazgul had seemingly finished the weakest link in Isildur and Anarion\u2019s city<\/p>\n

But not knowing it, it was Denethor\u2019s last straw
\nHe set alight his half-alive son on a last funeral pyre
\nMaddened with grief, betrayal and his own ingratitude
\nSenseless with rage and fear he cursed at the fire
\nBut he was thwarted in his macabre efforts by Gandalf and Peregrine Took
\nWho couldn\u2019t prevent Denethor from burning to his own doom
\nBut they had saved Faramir
\nAnd with time and the care of Aragorn and the eventual love he found in the Rohirrim-lady, Eowyn
\nHe soon became what he had lost;After the battle and all the celebrations and the honour,
\nFaramir had thought, silent and to himself
\nGood did come of what he had done long back
\nLetting Frodo go and not succumb to his own greed
\nHowever disguised, however sweet it then seemed
\nHe had defeated the blackest of forces on could slay
\nThe ones that torment from the inside
\nGhastlier than any which ride on storm or sea
\nHe had slain his own evil
\nAnd had peace within<\/p>\n
