John began acting when he was just seven. In 2007, at age 9, he won a Blue Peter competition for the chance to appear in an episode of series 3 of\u00a0Doctor Who. Since then, his acting career has included roles in feature films “A Shine of Rainbows,” “Wrath of the Titans” and “Battleship,” and regular TV roles playing Anthony Weaver in “Life of Riley” and Toby in “Tracy Beaker Returns.”<\/p>\n
John was cast as Bain, son of Bard the Bowman, and will appear in both the 2nd and third movies of the Hobbit trilogy. He describes his character<\/a> as: \u201ca young boy ready to do battle when needs be and to protect his father.\u201d<\/p>\n
