Whilst it&#8217;s tidings I heeded to late.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though stronger than spells out of Mordor, a token I let take my heart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now Doom is indeed close at hand , comes the Bane of my forebearers lore!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Leads the Halflings to stand by me in frozen fear&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And watch as I fall to the floor.<br \/>\nOut from the trees comes my nemesis. With the twisted blind hate of his kind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here to bend fate for his Master designs. To take back the &#8216;token&#8217; I thought mine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But fate has awakened my heritage. My pride has been tempered at last!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Halflings&#8230;.my friends, my companions. Will not fall to Mordors Dark past.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though&#8230;. pierced&#8230;.. with blacks shafts&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.that bring me &#8230;&#8230;.to &#8230;..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">my&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">fall.<br \/>\nTo my last!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I have given&#8230; my all&#8230;&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Oh Humble Lad, Oh Loyal Friend<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>By: Mitch P.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Oh humble lad oh loyal friend,<br \/>\nWhat dreams you dream of journeys end.<br \/>\nYour focus fades to stories told,<br \/>\nOf heroes bold and magic old.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Best now for you to focus view,<br \/>\nOn what is good for me and you.<br \/>\nOn cabbages that leafy grow,<br \/>\nOn taters that spring from below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For tending life is no small thing,<br \/>\nA nobler cause life couldn\u2019t bring.<br \/>\nNurturing the land you know,<br \/>\nYou give your love so things may grow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">With busy hands beneath good soil,<br \/>\nYour mind still drifts towards hero\u2019s toil.<br \/>\nNo harm you think to, now and then,<br \/>\nDream of dragons, elves, and men.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A good day passes, as it will,<br \/>\nAs night approaches cups do fill.<br \/>\nFor working hard is fine indeed,<br \/>\nBut finer still is day\u2019s end mead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As stories pass from friends and kin,<br \/>\nMerry making does begin.<br \/>\nYour place, you think, is only here,<br \/>\nAmong your friends and family dear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">No need for life away from home,<br \/>\nNo need to wonder or to roam.<br \/>\nAt last you stumble to your bed,<br \/>\nOn pillow soft you rest your head.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But something pulls you from your rest,<br \/>\nWhat is it that you haven\u2019t guessed.<br \/>\nYou strain your mind, then thoughts emerge,<br \/>\nOh dear, forgot to trim the verge!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Racing now in drunken haze,<br \/>\nTo fix before his master\u2019s gaze.<br \/>\nThe flowers by his window sill,<br \/>\nTrimmed neatly, will look better still.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But something odd you see ahead,<br \/>\nYour master isn\u2019t in his bed.<br \/>\nSo quiet now you must complete,<br \/>\nThe task for which you\u2019ve set your feet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But odder still is what you hear,<br \/>\nPerhaps, you think, I\u2019ll bend my ear.<br \/>\nBut what you hear s\u2019 hard to believe,<br \/>\nYou should of never dropped no eves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This tale you hear, it feels so wrong,<br \/>\nNothing like an elven song!<br \/>\nWhat\u2019s worse, they speak as if it\u2019s real,<br \/>\nYour fear becomes hard to conceal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">One nervous rustle, then a whack!<br \/>\nAnd here you are, flat on your back,<br \/>\nWith elden eyes he stares you down,<br \/>\nYour master watches with a frown.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cYou\u2019ve heard too much\u201d, his voice does surge,<br \/>\nHe doesn\u2019t believe you about the verge!<br \/>\nHe says he knows just what to do,<br \/>\n\u201cWhere Frodo goes, you\u2019re going too!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So off you go, the road ahead,<br \/>\n\u201cDon\u2019t ever lose him\u201d s\u2019 all he said,<br \/>\nHow very odd that work would lead,<br \/>\nTo what you thought you didn\u2019t need.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So sure you were that home was best,<br \/>\nIn wildest dreams you\u2019d never guessed,<br \/>\nThat you of all would play a part,<br \/>\nIn tales you\u2019ve held so close to heart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now far from home and all that\u2019s right,<br \/>\nFated now to face the night.<br \/>\nA dream come true, your tales begin,<br \/>\nMuch farther than you\u2019ve ever been.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~ * ~~<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Boromir&#8217;s Redemption&#8221; by David McG. &#8220;I held the sword that was broken..and it forbade a terrible fate.
